Il Mulino doesn't seem terribly good!

After reading one too many so-so reviews (here, in print, and elsewhere) I cancelled our ressie. After some careful thought, DH and I went with Flying Fish.

Maybe the Orlando Il Mulino needs a bit of time before it attains the reputation the New York location has. I noticed in a post above there was a mention of Las Vegas having an Il Mulino. I didn't know that. I have eaten at the Las Vegas Rao's, the food there was absolutely phenomenal!

I'll just have to wait for another time for high end italian.

We have ressies here in August and I was really looking forward to it. We were always big fans of Palio, but recent reviews of Il Mulino don't seem like it's worth the cost.

Any recent diners wish to share their experiences, please?

Thanks.

I ate at the Orlando Il Mulino in May and it was very, very good and the service was perfect.

I also ate at the Las Vegas branch and it was also very good, but the best one was the one in Miami. It was probably one of the best meals we ever had. The gnocci was incredible.

Being from New York, of course, I haven't tried the New York one yet. Go figure.

Just a quick note about Disney restaurants. Just because it is good once, doesn't mean it will be good the next time.

Last year, my husband and I had an EXCELLENT meal at Artist Point. It was the highlight of our trip. This year I took my daughter and her boyfriend and I was bragging about Artist Point. Well, the food this time was mediocre at best. We were shocked at the quality. Even though, I will probably give them one more chance, just because the first time was such a memorable meal.

Another example is Le Cellier. It's been our favorte restaturant for years. My daughter kept telling her boyfriend that this will be the best meal of the trip, etc. Well, the food was terrible. All our meals were over salted and the meat was not tender. We were terribly disappointed.

This past May we had very good meals at Alfredos, Flying Fish, Il Mulino, Olivias and my all time new favorite....JIKO!!!
