ikea mattress? OR cool bed for little boy?

I'm thinking about buying an ikea "single" size bed for my son who has outgrown his crib--I have a twin mattress already, but I'm not sure if the twin mattress will fit on an ikea "single" bed. Anyone know? I've tried googling with very little results.

I'm actually having a hard time finding a cute twin bed for my son. Ikea is my last resort. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it!

Shame you aren't closer. I have my sons Ikea loft twin bed with an extra desk accesory that I am trying to give away. He's 6 foot 2 now and he got too tall for the bed.

Yes a regular twin mattress fits. Ours did. Now it wasn't a pillowtop but the regular mattress.
