Go to the short notice exchange page and select an area or write in an area if what you want isn't listed. select the exact dates you want up to 30 days out and for 6 days or less and hit search. If there's nothing in the area you listed, it will say so. If you didn't put an area that is specific enough, the system will give you choices. Put in TN and it gives you 4 areas to chose from that correspond to where II has resorts in TN. It looks like listing by state is the best if you aren't sure however note that the system lists all cities for a given state where II has options regardless of whether those options are on the II DVC list or not.Can someone wlk me through how to do the search?.. I see where it says to click but I do not see where you can search days and resorts. Thanks!

I don't understand what Dean is talking about regarding short notice. I was able to pull up matches in both Arizona, Branson and Williamsburg for checkins in September. And not just for short stays but for week stays also.
Here's the quote from the website.I don't understand what Dean is talking about regarding short notice. I was able to pull up matches in both Arizona, Branson and Williamsburg for checkins in September. And not just for short stays but for week stays also.
And here's an item from the FAQ:Booking Window: From 30 to 4 days before check-in date (some accommodations may be available as far as 12 months before check-in date)
These appear to follow the same basic premise that is used on bonus weeks, that it's a good way to get rid of inventory that would be surplus otherwise. So you will find inventory 12 months out for places like the desert in Summer, Williamsburg other than summer and likely Xmas, etc. IF Orlando were on the list, it's be available a lot as well.4. What is the number of nights available for Short Stay exchanges?
Short Stay exchanges are available from a minimum of 3 consecutive nights to a maximum of 6 consecutive nights (based on availability). For exchanges longer than 6 nights, you may book multiple Short Stay exchanges (based upon availability) or contact Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 800-********/407-566-3800 to book a week-long exchange.
This is from the FAQ page also. I found quite a few interesting matches that were 4-5 months away and looked like a decent point value (at a glance anyway). I really like this feature. Even if it is II's bag of leftovers, I love having the ability to look in and see what is there. The majority of Short Stay exchange inventory will be available in the system for stays 30 days or less from today; however, there will be times when availability could appear for stays more than 30 days from today. Inventory is always changing so please check back often.
Has anyone been able to pull up any exchanges by entering in a location rather than picking one of the presets? Personally, I think this is a great new feature. I would like to see this replace the entire calling MS and doing searches, etc. The old process seems like a lot of voo-doo to me. I'd much rather do the search on my own and see what is available before making a commitment.
I can't even find that part.

Go to Member Getaways and then World Passport. From there I went to Interval International using the link on the left. Then I clicked on Book Now. You can enter other locations under the list of preset destinations.
I just did a check for the first week of September and pulled up a lot of exchanges in Williamsburg. Also Palm Desert (don't really know where that is), Branson, Phoenix and Sedona. These are all full week exchanges.
I know folks say this might not be the best way to use points, but I disagree. I think it's a personal decision. We bought our DVC to use as pre-paid vacations. I don't want to have to pay extra money to pay for vacations. Plus I have no interest in renting out points. I didn't join DVC to become a real estate agent and I find the entire renting out process distasteful.
Being able to search what exchanges are available and book immediately is a big plus to my DVC membership. It gives you time to see what is there and do some research first including checking air rates before making that big commitment.
Thanks so much for trying to help me. All I get when I click on book now is this.. http://disney.intervalworld.com/web/cs?a=5&expireSession=y
I which I could help you more, but following Wolfpack's directions and clicking the "Book Now: See What's Available Now!** " link under the "NEW! Short Stays" section opens up a new browser window with the site you are looking for.
