We'll be staying at the Poly, and the kids are used to sleeping with a fan on. I have a calming electric fan track on my iPod, and I am hoping that I can play it on repeat through the alarm clock in the room. I am not very tech savvy, and my iPod is an older nano. Will it work in the alarm clock? Someone on the Restuarant board (where I originally posted by mistake!) mentioned the rooms at the Poly have ceiling fans, but they're not noisy enough.

I have seen the answer to this question before (I think), but I can't find it. Thanks for your help!

I really do not know the answer to that question but you can pick up a small white noise machine for less than 20.00 to use. We always travel with one.

Depending on what iHome there is and what iPod you have, it's possible that your iPod will work, but it won't charge. I think you'll just have to wait to see when you get there. We have numerous iHomes and other speakers for iPods and various types of iPods and iPhones and they don't all work (charge) in all of the different combinations.

I agree you'll have to wait and see when you get there. The home clock at BLT didn't work at all for using the iPod part when we were there. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies! I was trying to avoid buying the machine, but I might get one as a back-up. Hopefully the kids will be so tired that they won't need the noise to fall asleep!

If the room has a ceiling fan, you could turn that on!
