It's a cool, wonderful day here. It was 56! this morning and 53 yesterday morning. Didn't get to 80. A welcome relief.

I just found that out too -- I'd been in a meeting and my phone buzzed with the news alert. Scary stuff. I work on a campus and it always gives you a jolt when you hear of something like that.

I'm getting my hair done and then I have a wake to attend. My grandmother's lifelong best friend died. She outlived my grandmother by 10 years. I figure there's quite the party with BelAir cigarettes and Shaeffer beer in heaven right about now.

ETA -- answering my own questions. NO! It was Hamm's beer that had the bear. I still remember that commercial though.

I loved that Hamm's bear. My ex husband had a bar light that was a rolling scene of that bear canoeing down the river. Of course, he got all bar lights in the divorce. In fact, he got everything in the divorce.

It was Pall Mall cigarettes that my grandmother smoked.
