DH's grandparents both passed within the past year and a half. His parents and aunts have been going through all their belongings and brought a few things to our house over the weekend. His mom handed his sister and I a foreign coin that she said Pawpaw got in the war. I looked at it and it said Canada 1979. :lmao:

so.... he was in the battle of Canada?:lmao:

a side note, you called your grandfather by the name of a fruit tree?:confused3

Wickey is correct. DH's grandparents were called Mammaw and Pawpaw. Definitely a Texas thing. However, our children do not call their grandparents that, my mom is Gan and DH's parents are Nanny and Pa. All of their names were picked by our eldest. That was what she called them and it stuck.

Hello from Beijing! It's the middle of the night and I can't sleep. It could be jet lag or it could be my dinner of tofu and crab stew with a corn soda.

Hi Pakey. Glad to hear from you. Hope you had a great flight. Have to tell you, if I ate what you did, I'd be posting from the bathroom. :rotfl: And corn soda -- isn't that right next to Beverly in Epcot? :confused3

Miss you and hope you have a wonderful trip. Let us know how the chopsticks go. ;)

Hey I thought you didn't like shellfish?

corn soda? has a lot of HFCS?

hehehehehehe

see, you go half way around the world, and STILL have to hang out on the DIS!!!:lmao:

I didn't know the tofu dish would have crab since menu was in Chinese and I had to go from picture. And the corn soda tasted just like pureed cream corn poured over ice. I am very adventurous and I think that's going to be a good thing here.

And I'm on the dis cuz I can't get facebook to work on my phone. I think I'm going to make me some tea in my tea maker which is standard in hotel rooms. If I can figure out how to use it. This hotel is so modern that I keep expecting to run into George Jetson.

Did you happen to bring the doggies back to visit their homeland? ;)
