Money Magazine in its annual report on the top CEO's has Bob Iger at WDC ranked 16th with his total compensation for 2006 at 42.4 million.

Do you have a link to this online? I'm in an MBA class, where we are giving a presentaion on change management for TWDC as it relates to leadership, and I would love to quote this. Thanks!

Thanks! I did a few Google searches and didn't come up with anything.

$42+ Million for one guy for one year...Yeah, capitalism is really working.:confused3 You know this is all going to end very badly, right?:sad2:

I'm thinking there are a lot of folks who could do a better job than Iger for, oh say 5 million:rolleyes: and yet he's only the 16th highest paid bozo...How great could Disney be if they lopped of the real deadwood (not just Iger) and actually concentrated on creating something, anything...(Not stealing TV commercials, Bob!).

Not surprised. Im terms of corporate revenue, where does Disney rank?

Look at it this way.

The average Attraction Host or Hostess at a popular attraction at WDW or Disneyland comes in contact with thousands of people every day. Day in and day out that adds up to lots of people - lots of happy, well entertained and well treated people. And most of the people can't wait to come back. I'd say they are doing a good job.

Last night, Bob Iger showed 'Cavemen' to roughly 9 million people. No one came away happy, entertained or well treated. Very few of those viewers are expected back next week.

So on that basis alone - the average park cast member is many, many, many times better at being "Disney" than Bob Iger is.

It's time to get this putz out of Disney. I'm wondering if we can get a judge to force the board to give up custody and turn Iger over to Kevin Federline...

Agreed.

Too bad Steve Jobs doesn't care. He got his money.

What really hurts is that the ridiculous amount of money being paid to this clown would go so far in building a really great attraction.....or two, at WDW.

What does every one think of George Lucas as CEO? I'm not suggesting he would want it or that it's likely to happen. I'm just posing the question.

For that matter, could Catmull and Lasseter run Disney? (Animation/Parks)

The more time goes on, I really think for starters, Broadcasting and Animation & Parks need to be split up. I know, I know, this is not likely to happen either, but what I'm talking about is Disney becoming essentially the pre-ABC (ehem) I mean Disney takeover.

BTW..AV, Federline..that's funny!!

Aside from Iger's compensation, is it really time for a change? Pixar is back, Lassiter is back, the wand is gone, DVC is growing, I think we are in mych better shape than we were at the end of the Eisner era.

Anyone who has that job will be cpmpensated in a similar maner. Unfortunately, that has become standard in corporste America.
