I wanted to rent some points for a week at the end of July and IF they were available by someone....How much would 154 points cost to rent at POFQ?

Thank you! Just trying to find a way to get there;)

try checking out the rent/trade board here on the DIS- but usually you can rent points anywhere from $8 per point to $12 per point- but pointwise you are much better off (IMHO) staying at a DVC resort on points- not a moderate.

You can probably get a POFQ room directly from CRO for less than a DVC rental, but can get a much nicer room at a DVC resort for less.

Once you know the dates you want and the resort and room type- post your desires on the Rent/Trade Board and see if someone can help. You can also contact one of the members who has posted offering the availability of points for reservation rental.

Good luck!

Using rack rates available at WDW resorts, the most likely cost of your points would be $10 per point, so it would cost you $1540 for that stay. That would equate into around 9 nights if you booked through Disney directly. Renting DVC points to book a WDW hotel is NEVER a good deal, if you want DVC accomdations it would be a good break. If you're going for more than 8 days, you can buy an AP for the same price as an UPH and then qualify for AP rates. The current AP rate for a moderate over the summer is $84 per night, plus tax. For an 8 night stay that would equal $750 a HUGE savings over renting DVC points. The same 8 nights, if you didn't want to buy an AP would be $1280, approx a $250 savings over renting DVC points. If you want to go, call 1-407-WDISNEY and book with them, don't rent points from a DVC member to book a moderate resort.

AP's that expire at the end of August..that is why I am thinking of sneaking in a trip;)

Thanks for the tips...I'll look around here!

A few years ago it made sense to rent points for stays at other (non-DVC) resorts, but that's no longer true. You may have run into some obsolete advice.

A weeknight at PO from now until Aug 21 would cost 15 points for standard or 17 points for waterview.

From now until August 15, you could stay in the same "neighborhood" at either OKW or SSR in a studio. At OKW, weeknights would run 11 points per night and at SSR it would be 13 points per night. From August 16 on, it drops to 10 points and 12 points respectively.

The "cost per point" fluctuates but using $10 per point -- that's $150 points at POFQ vs. $110 or $130 per night for a bigger room and kitchenette.

I think it may be cheaper for us to stay at POFQ on an AP rate. It's $74 per night plus taxes and we could go in early July instead of later.

I do appreciate all your help though!:D
