...give me a synopsis and a review. We're going to BIL's house tomorrow to watch it. He's a big fan of it and we'll never hear the end of it if we don't go see it.

What's it about? How did you like it?

I want to see it, but anit it long (dont like long movies either)

It is very very long, and i found it to be boring. It's a man thing i think. I've known grown men to cry watching this movie. It's all about courage and honor and whatnot.

tricia.

men dont cry, they get somthing in there eyes

I've seen it. It's interesting. Emotional, and violent. I liked it, but I've never rented it a second time.

Braveheart is my DH's favorite movie. The first time I tried to watch it I had to walk away as I couldn't stomach the violence. I gave it another try and just covered my eyes during the really gruesome parts. It is a good movie, just lots of violence.

Mel Gibson is Scottish, falls in love, marries in secret because the landlords have a "we get to have the woman first" policy. They kill his wife anyway, he gets mad and starts this battle thing. There's a lot of battles, a lot of talking, blah blah blah, Mel gets captured at the end. Personally, I thought it was boring. But I also missed the fact that his wife died - I thought the bad-guy slapped her, not slit her throat. I couldn't understand why Mel was hitting on the queen-lady when he had a wife back home!

I didn't like it either, I was thoroughly bored through it all, but my DH thought it was brilliant!

I must be in the minority because I totally *loved* this movie!!!! katerkat mostly gave the synopsis of the movie and from what I understand, they actually left out a lot of the pure gore of hte movie (what they could have done). It is long and I watched it in the movie theater my first time... I was speechless by the end of it... very powerful to me :)

Really great movie!! Watched it many times. I loved it!!:D

I loved this movie. I love any movie with Mel Gibson in it!

Thanks everyone. I suspect it may be a little like "Gladiator"? DD had to watch it for school, so I watched with her. It was a little hard to follow because of the old fashioned language, and it was pretty gory, but once I caught on, I thought it was pretty good. I'm going to do this "Braveheart" thing once and for all, and I'll let you all know what I thought of it.

William Wallace gets killed.

I couldn't watch this film. Only parts of it, too violent for me.

My husband loved it, though

<font color=navy>Oh my gosh - I loved this movie.

I really like movies based on history, and this is one - has to do with honor and determination and sacrifice.

It was really really good, and I've seen it a few times.

I watched Braveheart for the first time last year, the movie was out years ago, but I just had no desire to watch it. Finally after not being able to find anything else of interest in the video store I picked it up and I'm sooooooo glad I did!!!! :teeth: ::yes:: I absolutely LOVED the movie and thought it was very well done! I didn't cry, but I did get emotional during several parts of the movie. It is very long, but being that I enjoyed the movie, I forgot how long it really was. Did that make any sense?

It's really good, but I've never felt the need to see it a second time. Lots of violence, but strong story and good acting.:earsboy:

I loved this movie! I was not prepared when I saw it in the theater and I did not know that I needed to "plan my fluids."

The movie is long, but rarely drags. There is method to the madness of the slower parts. Sit back relax and enjoy the "pause feature" of your media player. :p Maggie
