If you've booked a military discount room for 2013, post it here!

For you and some advice to the orginal poster is to look into renting points from a DVC member or if you are not comfortable with that, rent from a company like the timeshare store or David's. It's cheaper than the military discount. For example: If the original poster wanted a 2 bedroom for her dates doing the military discount is ~$660/night, but renting @ $12/point would be ~$575, that's almost $100 less per night. It is very difficult to get a 2 bedroom through disney because we DVC owners, own the vast majority of them, disney can only book something like 10% of the inventory (Florida law). So yes, there are rooms that will hold that many people and keep in mind that BLT is the most expensive DVC resort out there (for now, I"m sure GF will surpass that) so if you really want to save some money rent a 2 bedroom at Old key West, which is a great resort and gets a bad rap. You will have more space then you know what to do with!

I'm the original poster so just wanted to update that still no military room only for BLT for our dates. We did get a 20% off the 2 bedroom using the AAA discount, so not bad. For me, I want the daily housekeeping, which would add $45/night to the points rate since it does not include this service when you rent points. Also, I need the flexibility to cancel, so points was not the way to go this trip. Good luck to others and congrats to those who have booked!:cheer2:

1. Contemporary Resort
2. Garden Wing, Garden View King bed
3. June 23 - 30
4. End of January 2013

(We call every couple of days or so to try get a room with two beds instead of a king, this just happened to be the last 'standard' room they had left for the Military Discount. Also, there are currently (as of Sunday 3/3) two Club level rooms available with the discount.)
:)

Just wanted to update: We were able to book a discounted room in the main Contemporary building, 11th floor Bay Lake View, yesterday! Yay for persistence!

Boardwalk Inn
Club Level Standard
4/20-4/26
booked Jan 21.

Question for those of you who have already gone ... did you get Mickey Mail?

I usually book interline travel rates (same discount for rooms) but since they went :wave2: Buh-Bye Jan 19th I used my husbands military rate. I guess the military discounted rooms are hard to come by, the CM said she couldn't believe I got this room on short notice.

I received Magical Express mail but no disney room package mail. I love getting new luggage tags, and discounts for mini golf. Wondering if these aren't offered with the military rate? Anyone know?

Is this always enforced? I am planning a trip for November, hoping the military discount is extended. Everything I read, says it will be. The problem I am running into is the price for the first night at BC/YC is the most expensive. I was thinking of booking at Boardwalk (Sat.) and then moving to BC/YC.

Has anyone run into the issue of a minimum length requirement for a Sat. check-in?
