I'm 5'3", which is more the short side of average.
Pro - being closer to the ground so falling isn't as dangerous for a complete klutz like me. Capris work as normal pants when you gain weight. Can pull off wearing teenaged son's sweatshirts. Still get carded at 40 (now I growl for them shaddup as I'm showing my i.d.). Good at playing hide and seek since I can fit into places smaller than you'd expect.
Cons - That pesky top shelf. (I used to pick up my son so he could then reach the item for me. Now he's too big to do that, but not quite tall enough to reach it for me on his own.) Finding normal pants is a challenge, especially if you gain weight. Listening to my husband (and now son) give me a ribbing anytime I need to use the step ladder, or ask for help. Being called "cute".
