I know that if you are vacationing now it will be rare for you to check the boards but here's the info:

Disney's Hollywood Studios will be extending operating hours, January 4, and January 5, 2017.

• Park hours change from 9:00am-8:00pm to 9:00am-9:00pm

Also, Magic Kingdom will be extending operating hours, January 5, January 6, and January 7, 2017.

• Park hours change from 9:00am-10:00pm to 9:00am-11:00pm

rare? I think it's almost a requirement to make sure something like this or quickly added doesn't get missed Or that's just me.

but interesting, I guess a lot of schools are really not going back until next week.

I know Dade and Broward County schools do not go back until the 9th.

Geez. I am here now. Just spent the day at DHS. No idea it was open til 9:00. All the paperwork/maos said 8:00. But people were still boarding rides at 8:05.

Heading to MK tomorrow glad I know about extended hours now

Hours were extended same day. That's why it wasn't on the paper schedules

Agreed. We arrived on NYE and Sat and Sun were more manageable than it has been all week.

It's been that way since the hurricane. i've been having trouble believing it's lower crowds this fall/winter so far (but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a very small percentage). small exceptions to that but not many.

It's not just this week, this week I was expecting packed and surprised many crowd calendars didn't agree. Tonight might be a big exodus though but disney just raised hours through the weekend and they haven't had hours late this fall unless it was a madhouse.

I wasn't expecting packed. Usually marathon weekend is not packed.

I'm shocked by the wait times in mde. I know they aren't always accurate but there are tons of 120+ minute waits and I'm not feeling great about my Monday arrival. I'm really hoping all the New Years crowds will be gone and hopefully everyone will be back in school. I was pumped when I saw easywdw put our MK day at a 1. I was fine with 8 o'clock closing times if it meant lower crowds

I'm in Epcot right now and I've been in the FP line for Test Track for 20 minutes. Haven't gotten to car design yet. It's a bit crazy.

Fp waits have been exceptionally long everywhere this week. I wonder if they have increased the number of fp's given out over the holiday season.

That and it seems lots of break downs. Any time a ride it out your FP gets replaced with an anytime FP. We encountered long FP lines at Splash mountain and Everest this week.

Last 2-3 days crowds have been on the brutal range.... but I must add that today at DHS was busy but manageable. MK crowds insane this week! Will not be coming again 1st week of Jan... will stick to late Feb and early Dec. We still love this place

MK was crazy today. We arrived just as the welcome show was ending, and were able to get some things done before it got really crazy about 10:30 (Thunder, Splash, Pirates, Small World). Our FP+ kicked in at 10:30 so we knocked a few more out. After that, wait times were crazy across the board. Just insane. We left just before Wishes. I will say that I did check wait times about 9:20 tonight when we got back to the resort and wait times had all dropped significantly for everything other than Space and 7DMT.

This is the third time we have been during marathon weekend, and this was by far the worst we have ever seen it. Worse than our trips over Memorial Day. Only thing I can think is that marathon weekend being early this year overlapped with the New Year crowd still hanging around.
