If you're going value why would you pay extra $$ to stay at all stars?

What I mean is, Pop and All Stars have same base pricing, but All Stars has 13% tax and Pop has 11.5 %. Anyonw else notice that this then makes Pop the cheapest resort ot stay onsite? Am I wrong??

We just stayed at the Pop and I did notice this. We have stayed at all the AS. I asked the CM when I booked and she said it is because they are in different counties.

We loved the Pop and would go back!!

That's interesting...I didn't know that there was a difference in taxes. We are staying at All Star Movies because a friend of ours, who has stayed at Movies and Pop, recommended Movies over Pop. Since we've never stayed value before, we didn't really know the difference!

You are correct but it doesn't amount to much of a difference. They are in different counties as another poster stated.

I choose my resorts based on theming because a couple of dollars difference a night doesn't matter that much to me.

All-Stars are great, and I was just talking to someone who recently stayed at Pop and loved it - I think for the small difference in taxes, choose whichever sounds better to you. I'm sure you'll enjoy any of them. :flower:

To me, the minimal amount of money I would save doesn't matter. Pop is (or seems) a little further away meaning I need extra time to get to wherever I'm going. We stayed at Sports a couple of years ago and loved it so that is why we are staying there again - Music this time!

We're staying at Sports b/c DS 14 is an absolute sports nut!!!That's why we'll be there!

We just stayed at the Pop but have stayed at all the All Stars and we enjoyed everyone of them. I think the price of the room is good. I noticed that when we travel to Indiana to see my brother that the price of a Holiday Inn is more a night than going for a night at the Pop or All Stars.

We will keep staying at one of these hotels because they are so much fun!

I choose the hotel i stay at for price as well as other reasons.

For the $1.15 (based on a $77 rack rate at both), It was not a deal breaker as my DS had his heart set on the All Stars (actually All Star movies, but we couldnt get in there, so we chose Music).

However, If it were just me, I would save the $1.15 because I am a cheap dude.

When we go as a family and stay at a value, DS#2 is a football player, so he insists that we stay at Sports in the football building.. My next trip I am taking my Dad and he will like the theming of POP better than AllStars..

Doesn't really matter to us...

Just wondering... I booked with AAA 2 rooms for AS sports (stayed there in '03) but then decided to switch to POP after reading the good reviews and deciding something different would be nice. When I switched the TA said the price remains the same. I know we're probably only talking $10.00 max but should I question it??

Well, I wanted to stay at All Star Movies - but the only rooms available on the free dining plan were Preferred. I don't mind paying the extra few cents in tax - but if I can save $50+ dollars by staying at Pop? No-brainer :sunny:
