If you're following the Scott Peterson trial...

I haven't heard of the stalker either. I haven't read through all the posts & don't know if I can. Haven't heard of that story yet. I have already judged him as guilty though. He shows no sadness, leaving the country w/a differentl color of hair w/a boatload of cash to get him on his way. Not exactly looking like a mourning husband & father.

They talked alot about this today on Court TV with Nancy Grace. Seems this mentally ill woman from the neighborhood broke into the Peterson home by using a coffee mug and breaking the glass on the French doors.

She then got into Laci's Social Security card and some other personal items and supposedly even tried on Laci's wedding dress. She was obviously not well, but I really doubt this mentally ill woman could have killed Laci, dragged her body 90 miles and dumped her in the Bay. If the Defense really tries to sell this one, they're grabbing at straws.

I'm a DV prosecutor, and what makes it significant that the detective left it out of the report is that it looks like the prosecution is purposely deceiving the jury, and juries don't like that (who does?)...

It COULD be factually significant, if they are proposing that she never knew anything about the boat (which I heard previously) but it's more strategically significant, because it looks deceitful. 2 things could have happened, and hopefully it's the 2nd-- the first is that the prosecutor knew about the missing information and didn't do anything to correct it, and the 2nd is that the detective never told the prosecutor about the missing info and then he was blindsighted at the trial. (It's happened to me more than once...)

Ok, now I've read all the posts. I don't personally see it as deceiving that the prosecutor would not tell the jury about a stalker. I think that's up to the defense attorney to show the jury. On the boat thing, why would her hair be in the pliers on the boat, just because she happened to be on a boat. :scratchin It doesn't follow for me. If someone's hair is in the pliers, I would think it would indicate that they had the pliers in her hair for some reason & that wouldn't look good for Scotty.

Also, thanks to Grinninghost for the info regarding the stalker that was revealed today apparently. That's a scary stalker, putting on the wedding dress, the SSN thing. That could throw some doubt into the mix for the jury.

Either way, if Scott is found not guilty (they won't say innocent), he'll get to go to Florida & golf w/OJ, while both of them "search" for their wives killers.

Edited to correct my crummy grammar. Doh! Preview! Doh!

I guess I am the only one who thinks he is innocent. Yes he is a cad, cheating on his wife but that does not mean he killed her. Why would he do it? Why did he wait until she was so far along with the pregnancy, and with a boy? Even her own family supported him until they found out about the mistress. It does seem like he was going to flee since he had that money but maybe his family was just trying to protect him?! I am just saying that it is quite a leap from an affair to murder. If he is guilty then all I can say is he has a great lawyer. This case is in the news daily here and there has been more then enough reasonable doubt in the last few days and the defense hasn't even started their case.

You are not alone IandG's mom...

I am just not sure that HE killed her..... it all odd, very odd.

oh and btw... Hey there! from someone out south of SJ!

He told Amber Fry some strange things about Lacy before her disappearance. Didn't he say that his wife was dead, before the whole episode. I guess thats why Amber went straight to the police when she found out Lacy was missing.

What about the fact that Scott died his hair and headed straight for the border? Very strange, huh!

I'm with you on all of this. And to say that Scott wouldn't murder his wife over Amber because he was a cad and didn't care enough about her - sorry. I disagree. He made hundreds of phone calls to her, drove to Fresno at least once a week to see her and even attended her company Christmas party.

For a guy that was just in it for a roll in the hay, he sure did waste alot of time doing other things that revolved around her.;)

If she knew about the boat and visited the marina -- it would explain her hair in the boat.

Also makes it look like detectives are trying to frame him.

My feeling is her hair could have got in the boat whether she knew about it or not. Her hair could have been transferred to the boat on Scott's clothing. I don't put much stock in the hair at all.

Juror #5 is such a bonehead. I am very glad he got booted. Here's a guy that goes on national TV and says that "pregnant women are crazy". Then he recants it by saying he knows that the hormones are flying around and they're energetic one minute and collapsing the next. Well, that's just great. I'm glad he's an expert.

Now he manages to get his face on every single talking head show there is. And he's considering writing a book. A Book???? Hello, you weren't even on the jury long enough to hear the Prosecution's star witness, how on Earth can you write a credible book?!

And he had the nerve today to say that another witness came forward only to "get their face on TV". Ain't that calling the kettle black?;)

::yes::

I don't put much stock in the hair either. I'm sure we all carry our families hairs on our clothing all the time. To top it off, they damaged this hair, or hairs to boot!

I think the prosecution had a great day today however. One of the detectives in the case had gotten a call stating this person was a friend of Scott's from years ago. He claimed that like 9 or 10 years ago, Scott told him how he'd dispose of a body so no one would ever be able to identify it. He said he's weigh the body down and run duct tape around the neck. I forget word for word how the testimony went, but it was exactly how Laci and Connor was disposed. Now in the end, the police gave no weight to this guy (they took his name) and they did not follow up on it. They thought he was just another crack pot. Now, keep in mind, according to Greta tonight, she looked back through all the papers she could find and there was absolutely no mention whatsoever of duct tape before this call came in. I'm sure this evidence will lay on the jury for some time! :) WTG for the prosecution!

How does the gender of the baby make it less likely that he would have killed her?

Alot of guys want male babies...You never heard this before??? I just dont think he killed hiw wife and baby, because that baby could have survived if he would have been born at the time of the murder.

You must not be following very closely then. Laci' sister in law testified that when Laci announced her pregnancy she asked Scott if he was ready to become a father and his response was "I was hoping for infertility."

Scott did not want any children, it's been testified to more than once in this trial already (yes, I read the transcripts). Scott told Amber that he was thinking of getting a "vasectomy" on one of their first dates when Amber talked about wanting more children.

Why would someone other than SP abduct Laci and kill her and the baby and plant them were Scott was? There is no reason. Nothing was touched in the house, nothing stolen and I will never believe that Laci walked the dog that morning in barefeet (her tennis shoes that SP said she wore for walking were found by the back door) without a coat (there were no coats missing from the house) and without HER HOUSE KEYS (her keys, purse were in her closet untouched).

Anyone wanting to follow this and get updates during the day, go to the courttv message boards - the Laci Peterson board, we discuss all this all day long, every day.

I will be the first one to admit that you are far more knowledgeable regarding this subject than I. I only follow what the nightly news says. I do not have the time or the desire to read transcripts or follow this “all day long, every day”. Lets just agree to disagree regarding his innocence. If however he is found guilty I will be the first one to admit I was wrong and be right there with you ready to condemn him. Let keep in mind the defense has not presented their case and I guess I am different in thinking that maybe I should wait to say he is guilty.

All I know is that I feel really bad for Amber Frey. That poor girl had no idea. If he is set free, I fear for her life.

I'm another one in the minority here (and at home, too) as I'm not so sure he's guilty. I follow the trial evey day-no matter what's going on, the TV's on to Court TV at 4:00 Central time to get the latest updates on the trial. Sure, he was an unbelievably horrible cad-I think he didn't care, was probably actually relieved, when his wife was missing. But unless the proscecution can make a case for him having dumped her body the night before, not in broad daylight (have you seen how little room there is in that boat?), I'm not sure.... And the fact that he put himself at the site of her being dumped makes me wonder if her body may have been dumped after it was publicized where he was in order to frame him. Geez, maybe I watch to many crime shows!
