I am a newbie here and look forward to going to universal this august but want to know what there ticketing system is like- can everyone get a fastpass like at disney? Any help is appreciated

Yes, they have the normal "Express" machines which is like the Fastpass.

so it works just like fastpass? Thanks
I'm 95% sure it does.
I've only been to Disney once, sorry .. but I'm pretty sure it is.
You put your ticket into the machine for the express ticket and you have to wait 1-2 hours after i believe for another ticket .. and the tickets can be all used up ..so best to get there early to the good rides

The only thing difference between Universal's express pass and Disney's fast pass is:
at Universal, when you insert your ticket into the express pass machines, you get a choice between two different return times. Disney has a sign in front of their fast pass machines which says what the return time will be. Universal gives you a choice between return times, one early and one late. You pick the time that works best for your schedule. The express passes for Universal and the fast passes at Disney are both free and both have essentially the same rules about when you can get another pass.
