I would also add to have the "what to do when you get lost conversation" with every-age child, even a teen. Even if they have a cell phone.
I was prepping for a big family Disneyland trip last fall and DS13 happened to be in the room when I was having that getting-lost conversation with the younger kids -- don't leave the spot, talk to a CM or a mommy, etc. Afterward, DS13 said, "well, if I get lost, I should just go back to the hotel and wait for you there, right?"
(We were at the Disneyland hotel, but it would involve leaving the park, crossing the street, walking through the hotel -- to a room he didn't have a key for. He didn't have a cell at the time)
So I made super-sure he know that the "lost" rules applied to him too and I told all the kids to NEVER leave a park without us!!

p.s. I also try to make sure my kids are wearing bright colors and have our cell # in a pocket or their hip pack.
