If you were to take a job at Disney what would you want to do?

CEO. I aim high.

HBC

Cool, you could report to me-I want to OWN it then I could do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted--If I wanted to be a VIP tourguide one day I could, if I wanted to drive the monorail the next I could. If it was raining I could stay in the castle and call everyone to dinner. Yeah, this would be the best!!

I want to be a silhouette cutter. I'd love to learn how to do that!

They are AMAZING!!

Well, Haunted Mansion, obviously!:rotfl: Love the outfits and the location!

I'd like to be anywhere in that area of MK, also love the dresses the CMs wear in the Hall of Presidents.

Apparently I want to work where I can wear an Early American style dress.::thumbsup2

i'm not tall enough to play the evil queen. but i'd love to.

my dream job is to be a private photographer, who is hired by families to follow them around on their vacation. and i don't mean a photopass photographer. i don't even know if such a thing exists, but that would be my dream job (i am a family/children's photographer).

if i couldn't do that, i'd want to work at the haunted mansion.

on our last trip, i spoke with an older lady working at HM. i leaned over and whispered, "i want your job." she started chatting with me and said she had worked for disney for many years and loved her job! when she was young, she played peter pan (that's just what she said--i have no way to verify. but she was tiny). anyway, she was so adorable! and i appreciated her speaking to me.

I would love to work at most of the table service restaurants.

If not, I think it would be fun to be a character... especially one that doesn't wear a heavy or thick costume... or is indoors.

I would like to be involved in the Wishes Dessert Party, making desserts, it would be magical to see the Show plus looking at the faces of the peolple at the Party.......I wish upon a Star.....

:cloud9:

This is reality for us. We have sold our house and are marking time until Dec 1 when DH can officially retire. We are planning to head down in January.

We both want to work in the resorts rather than parks. DH is very spry (55 but passes for 40) so he wants to stay spry by working in bell services. He is a talker and will do very well in tips I suspect. As for me, I think I would like to work in one of the conference centers. I do a lot of event planning and organizing in my current job. Second choice would be front desk...but I will be VERY SELECTIVE in my awarding of those elusive free upgrades! :rotfl: I would even be happy working in mousekeeping!

DH and I talk about this all the time. He would like to pilot the monorail or a boat. I would like to be in the costume dept. or work in the Haunted Mansion. Hope it all comes true someday:cloud9:

We talk about this a lot too! I wouldn't mind working in the kids clubs. I teach now, and I love kids....I think it would be fun!

My DH is a "techie" so he'd love fixing anything electronic/mechanical. He also says he wouldn't mind driving a bus!:goodvibes

I haven't read the whole thread, but want to add my 2 cents! I would like to pilot a boat...like the one from the WL to MK...or the one from DTD to OKW...something like that!

Fun thread, thanks! I like daydreaming about it!

My wife wants to work in the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in the MK while I drive the boat from Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney. I would eat my lunches at the Riverside Mill.

If money were no issue, I'd love to work inside POTC. It's my favorite ride, and it's always cool and dark inside, no matter how humid and gross it may be outside. :thumbsup2

I would love to be Tinker Bell so I can fly during Wishes!! Or I would like to be one of the VIP guides or tour guides so I could share my knowledge and love of Disney with others. DH is a techie and loves pyrotechnics so he would love to be one of the pyrotechnicians for the fireworks.

Though I LOVE my current job, since we are dreaming here, I'll play. HAHA. I would love to be a VIP tour guide (think about it, you would be paid to enjoy all the perks of being a guest! Ride all the rides, and depending on the VIP without waiting in lines, see all the shows/parads, and eat in all the fun restaurants while meeting some interesting people and getting paid to do it!). I would also love to coordinate trips for large groups like the marching bands that perform before the parades. I went twice with my high school marching band and had the most amazing time!

Realistically, I would love to work in AK with the animals, preferably lions and other big cats. I am going to school to do that eventually and Disney is my second choice for a dream job in that lion.

Finally! I've been watching this thread to see if anyone would want to do what I do (I'm a server at WDW) and was starting to think no one would want to! You made my day!

I've heard bell services make a lot of money! :thumbsup2

If this was a real thing (I don't know if it is or not?) I would totally hire you! In fact, I'd hire you to come on all my vacations with me! I love vacation photos but hate having to take them, being stuck behind a camera the whole time I feel like I miss things. We're going on our first Disney Cruise this summer, wanna come?!:cool1:

I'm currently a Duty Manager at WDW and LOVE my job.:lovestruc

If I had to choose another, it would be some kind of area or operations manager. Or maybe a writer for the Eyes & Ears...

The original lady at Disneyland that was Tinkerbell flying from the Matterhorn to Tomorrowland was in her 80's before she retired! :wizard:

I used to say I would go back to sewing the names on the Mickey Mouse ears but they retired those old machines. I would say vacation planning. I could plan a lot of really nice vacations for people! :cloud9:

Wow! How cool! I want to be her!!!

OP here, so far the most interesting would be overnights at the MK, especially during Christmas and Halloween time! Keep em coming I've got planning to do.:thumbsup2;)

The wife and I were discussing retirement the other day: If we ever move to Orlando (retire) and work for Disney what would we want to do. I still haven't come up with a good answer.
What would you guys want to do?

Get a second job as nothing at Disney pays well. Nothing. No matter WHAT you've heard.

I am "this close" to selling my house in Columbus, Ohio. My husband currently lives in Defuniak Springs in the Florida panhandle. My challenge will be selling that house once I get down there. Our plan is to move to central Florida and I would love a part-time job at WDW.

I would like to sell coffee at that little kiosk outside The American Adventure in EPCOT. Second choice would be the one over closer to Canada. I would love to watch Illuminations every night.

My other thought was to work valet parking at one of the resorts. I've spent 34 years in a cubicle. I need a job where I'm up and about. No more sitting for me.

I'd be happy just about anywhere, except costuming. I can't sew. :lmao:
