i only believe it getting tattoos that mean something to you. they represent who you are, where you've come from and where you want to go. and that is the only sort of tattoo i will ever put on my body.
my brother is going to get me tink's wings on my back. it has a lot of symbolism for me, not just because she's my favorite. it shows where i've come from, who i am, and what i desperately want to be. tinker bell is one of the major icons of disney, magic, and making dreams (well..wishes) come true. she is the spark that draws everyone close for fireworks, where everyone seems to stand as equals and at peace. i have been told i do this to people and my friends. i spread the magic and my magic everywhere i go.
i have a character for a story named shiva. he is named after the hindu god of destruction. he is also a naga, and in hindu mythology they are half snake and half human (think mermaid, but a snake tail instead). i was born in the year of the snake, and in india they believe that destruction brings about creation. i want a tattoo of him wrapping around my right foot. back when i was about 12 i broke my ankle and had to quit the one thing i really wanted to do back then, which was to be a primma ballerina. now, because of it taking away from ballet, my doors have opened and i have truly realized what my heart and soul long to do in this world. and i believe it never would have happened without me breaking my ankle and loosing ballet. creation through destruction.
in kingdom hearts, the paopu fruit is a symbol of souls being intertwined forever. my friends and i cosplay from kingdom hearts and we are sora, riku and kairi. if you know the story, you'll know that they are inseperable through light and darkness and truly share one sky one destiny. we told ourselves that we would all get about a quarter sized paopu somewhere on our bodies as a symbol of our "sharing of the paopu fruit" so that our souls and destinys may be intertwined.
in moulin rouge there are four symbols that represent the beliefs of the bohemian. i myself have been raised in and around art and i have another group of friends where we share and write together in the hopes of someday creating something much larger. between the four of us, we would like to share the tattoos of freedom, beauty, truth and love. beauty is my tattoo and it is a star. i have never thought myself as beautiful, so its sort of an oxy moron for who i am, but it also has a little more of a deep meaning that is personal.
the only other tattoos i would want to get is the zodiac symbols of my children as well as whomever i may marry. i know i deffinitley want the symbol for the aries, but as for the other's they'll have to wait
