How would you split up your time? Would you just show up and do what you feel like or would you plan ever day by the hour? If so what would you do?
Thanks
Jen

If you have 5 full days you can get park hoppers and do what you want. If you have 5 days but that includes travel and you only actaully have 3 days in the parks you can still kind of do what you want but I would recommend doing Disneyland first everymorning and take advantage of the lesser crowds and then hop over to DCA to do Soarin and (if you arrive after May 4th) the Tower of Terror.

The last time we were there we had a half day on the day we arrived and five full days after that. We did one day at USH, but the rest was at DLR. We planned very little except for a character breakfast and we got a PS for dinner on three nights. We also planned to see the DEP and Believe, but the rest of the time we played it by ear and had a fantastic time.

We visited DL for 5 days in Oct. 2001, and we planned it to the last little detail. However, because of the time of year that we visited, 5 days was more than enough time to visit both DL and CA and do EVERYTHING that we wanted to do. By Friday, our 5th day, we were down to running between Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pirates of the Caribbean. I actually volunteered to sit in a spot for three hours to hold a spot for our family to see Fantasmic! pirate:

I would say that if you go for five days during a busy season, some planning would be called for. But if you go in a slow season, planning is mostly so that you know what you want to do!

If you're going during a busy time you'll find yourself getting more frustrated than you do at WDW. It seems that the walkways and other areas aren't as large as they are at WDW and it makes the lines and getting around the park frustrating. The "go early" advice is even more important at DL than at WDW.

We are going the first week of may Monday - Friday. I have allready been on the internet planning
So far I have DCA planned for monday since tower of terror opens on tuesday. I am not sure how happy my 5 year old daughter will be when she find out that we arn't going to disney land on monday.
Tuesday is dL rides. toon town, fantacyland
Wed is DL showes
Thursday is DL rides adventureland ,new orlens square, critter...
Friday is what ever we haven't seen or what ever we want to do again.

My biggest problem is that it looks like we are going to have to choose between fantasmic, and the electrical parade. Of corse I picked fantasmic but I am a bit disapointed that we won't be able to see the electrical parade.

thanks,
Jen
