If you were given a quickie what would YOU do?

DD and I did a budget trip in November - we are DVC members, but had already used all my points, so I rented last minute from another member. Got a value studio at AKL and ended up with a savannah view close to the lobby. We didn't have park passes, so we spent three days enjoying the resort, DTD, mini-putting, going to PI for movie night and eating out and exploring at other resorts. We spent three nights and had a blast (it was for my birthday!). I think it was only 9 points a night, so we paid $90 per night for our rental. Great value, and not having passes it was nice to have such a nice studio to stay in and enjoy the gorgeous resort.
Hope you get to go and have a very enjoyable time!

I opened this because I was curious as to what it meant also (yes, my mind was in the gutter!)

However, it will be interesting to see how many "hits" this thread gets!:rotfl2:

And to answer your question, I would stay on site if I had the money. It is so easy to get around .... for a "quickie".

I opened this only because of the title, I must admit. Good tactic, OP!

Here's my advice: STAY ONSITE!!

If your hubby forks over enough bucks, definitely stay onsite.

If you have GAD tickets, then that'll shave some money off. You can always buy enough days for this quick trip and for your next trip. So if you were budgeting for a 7 day trip next year, it's not that much more to up it to 10 days with no expire.

Bring lots of snacks and drinks with you.

A lot of people are mentioning how cheap it is to ship luggage down than to fly with it. Plus you can add tracking and know where it is at all times.

Now back on topic. Not knowing the age of your DD I would probably stay on site just for the convience factor. Not having to get your luggage and worry about transportation. Where I stayed would depend on how much he forked over. :rotfl:

My mind was in the gutter, just like the rest of you. :lmao::rotfl2:

I really am happy that I amused you folks. .... ive got a sick sense of humor but Im really really stoked about the responses.... i really really do appreciate them

ooops I almost forgot to ad (since I do need the input) and I got another grrreat idea (sorry folks to do this .... but... ) to the person who added to give the "quickie" right back for the quickie (ttrrrust me, that will be worth the effort lol lol lol).

I also really thought the post about buying extra tickets this time and throwing the no expire option on the unused days for my trip I actually have been planning for Oct 2011 is EXCELLENT.!.

My DD is 8 years old, we have done Disney before but it was ruined by me with rush rush rush and do this and that ... I was determined to have her meet all the characters and so we didnt even stop to buy mickey ears, dole whips, or any of the fantastic foods I hear Disney has to offer.

I dont know anything about what ADR's are (is this dining reservations?) I dont know about the restaurants ... * any advise is appreciated * I almost didnt even stay for wishes but I forced myself to stay lol. This time will be different I hope :confused3 that is if I actually get to go sooner than later.:lovestruc

If you are bored you could check out our trip report linked below. My dd was almost 8 when we went. There last page has our what we'd do again and what we'd skip list

My first thoughts were NOT Disney-related (or even rated PG).....:lmao:[/QUOTE]
ditto:lmao:

On a mommy and me trip:
ADR: they are reservations for dining, available at all table service, and can be booked online, on the phone, or at Guest Relations in the park.
Plan a princess breakfast (Norway is cheaper than any of the others), or do the Princess Tea Party at the Grand. Gotta do at least one girl thing (as long as she's a girly girl).

DON'T go commando style... you should at least wait for your hubby to do that. Make more about all the special things Disney has to offer, then when you go as a family you can experience all the rides and other stuff that you've probably planned out for 2011.

Full Day 1: Magic Kingdom: I really do like the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It mini main street parade they do. It happens like 3 times a day, 2 in the morning time and once at like 5. It's an audience participation parade like the former Family Fun Day Parade. So any where around the castle hub you'll be able to join in the fun.
For Wishes, I'd ride the monorail around to the Poly, and at the food court (first floor, off to the left behind the gift shop) is Captain Cooks food court. There, they have self serve Dole Whip... I can pile it a foot high in one of those little cups. Just be careful, the pineapple only is really really sweet, I go for the pineapple/vanilla swirl.

Full Day 2: Epcot
Check the times guide for the Candy lady in Japan, and be sure to watch one of her shows. Be there extra early if you want to be right up front and you might get called on.
If you have a Disney Visa card, there's a special meet and greet for members, and you receive a free photo.
Don't forget to try a Koki Gori that they sell in Japan (it's to the left of the pavillion heading towards America). It's so yummy. They also sell funnel cakes in America (and the only other place is sleepy hollow in Liberty Square at MK). These are two of my favorite treats. Both cheap, the funnel cake you can split and the koki goris are cheap enough.
My favorite spot for Illuminations is right between world showcase shops (the two shops as you enter into WS), if the wind isn't bad, they open up the front area in front of the planters. It's sitting on your butt only, but you're close enough to feel the fire. Norway is another good spot.
Take your time exploring Innoventions... it's often overlooked and rushed through. I love the Waste Management game.
And Seasons is highly yummy food court, it's inside the Land. not the typical burgers and fries, and the portions seem a lot bigger than other places.
At the Land, they also offer the Behind the Seeds tour. It's like 15$ per person or something like that. Short walking tour of the green houses, and they usually let you pick something growing to eat, like the tomatoes. It's different, off the beaten path, and relatively cheap in comparison to some of the other tours.
If you love ice cream, it's a very short walk over to the Beach Club resort, and there they have Beaches and Cream, an old fashion soda shop.
Full Day 3: Resort Hop. There's so many cool things that each resort has to offer, it can take a whole day to check it out. This will definatly have to wait for a later post (cause it's 1am... and too much for me to think right now). And a good opportunity to do the Princess Tea Party. There's also an afternoon tea party that isn't quite as much.

:lmao:
Yes I opened this to hear about quickiespopcorn::
and I had to re read it three times to make sure it was on quickies:rotfl:
