I went to school with Masako Owada. She was an honor student & never got into any trouble. She worked hard in school and was always polite to everyone she met. We heard her father was some sort of diplomat & we knew he was a professor at Harvard, but she never talked about these things, never bragged, just wanted to fit in. I feel she was always held to a much higher standard by her family, even before they ever knew she would one day be the Crown Princess of Japan. Imagine my surprise when I realized this! Anyway, back to the OP's situation......
It is silly for this boy's parents to mention he is a so-called prince & not address the issue(s) you were trying to discuss w/them. The next time you need to talk to them about their son's behavior, I hope they will listen and do something about it, if not, they aren't helping their son at all. Good luck & thanks for being a teacher, I know it isn't always easy.
