If you went to Disney SOLO, what would you do? I'll be there for three days next week (just booked today!) staying at CBR. I can't book FP+ until the day I get there (CM Ticket) and I don't really care to book things. Since I'm on my own I sort of want to wing it. With the exception of probably doing rope drop....or maybe right after rope drop to miss the A&E crowd. What sort of things can I do that I normally wouldn't do with my family?

I had some alone time at DHS recently and enjoyed taking photos of "things" to use in my projects rather than typical tourist shots of my family members. I also did the animation class which no one else ever wanted to do. Loved it!

At Epcot, I would do the candy crawl idea. I also would have fun taking photos of various signs. On my next trip I plan to photograph all the restroom figure signs in Fantasyland. I've noticed...I think...they are all a little different.

Search out things you've never experienced before. Enjoy!

What a dream! I would check out all the hidden gems that my 3YO DS might not care about. Sit on a bench and hear a "Dance class" in Town Square, pick up a phone and call wherever in the world, go on a 4 hour behind-the-scenes tour?

All things I'd love to eventually do, but none appeal to the lil' guy.

These signs are different across all WDW. The level of details is very impressive. I have a growing set of restroom sign pictures from various theme parks, water parks, resorts and other WDW areas. Some are really great!

Benchs, lamps and water fountains may also be very original.

I'm going solo over the 4th. I am staying at a new resort for me, plan to eat at new places, take time and lot of pictures and hopefully meet a lot of characters. This will be a very go with the flow trip for me. Sleep in, walk slow, smell the roses kind of trip.

I'm going Solo over the 4th as well! Staying at AKL for the 1st time so I plan to take in the animals and activities at the resort. Also doing the Desert Party on the 4th for the 1st time as well as Harambe Night on the 5th! Have a few reservations at places I like to eat at and a couple new ones to try out! I'm looking forward to going at my own pace and doing the things I want to do, instead of trying to please everyone else in my party!

Have fun indeed. I have been on many solo trip and embarking on a new one in November. I get up when I want, eat where I want, and also do what I want. I am going to make a couple of dinner ADR's to places I have never been and enjoy myself.

I did try a lot more bars and what they had to offer this past solo trip.

Solo trips are THE BEST because it is all about YOU! Want to sleep in or hit the parks at rope drop? Or ride your favorite ride over and over? Or eat at a restaurant that nobody else in your party wanted to? The World is your oyster!

I'm off to the parks as early as possible and ride my favorites as much as I can. Also I go to Jellyrolls at least once or twice. Also it's nice to break during the day when I'm ready!

Enjoy!

lustergirl, we might be there around the same time!

The last solo trip I took, I rode ToT four times in a row. Same with Splash Mountain & Space Mountain. Most people I go with (boyfriend, best friend, running friends) only like to go on those rides once, maybe twice, but I find I never get sick of them. I like to ride ToT and Splash Mountain at least once during the daytime, and once at night, because they're different to me during those times.

I also do a LOT of shopping when I'm alone. I like to find little treasures that remind me of the Disney magic (pretty jewelry, interesting pins, souvenir t-shirts that I normally wouldn't waste time trying on if I'm not alone). When I'm with other people, I find myself enjoying watching the other person experience stuff more than I enjoy doing stuff for myself, so I shop less when others are with me.

And this may sound weird, but I really enjoy people-watching. If my feet are worn out or my legs are getting sore, I'll grab a drink or snack, find a place to sit down, and watch the reaction of people getting off the rides or at character spots.

Stand in a bunch of lines?

:confused3

I think we might be twins. I am also staying at AKL for the 1st time, and doing Harambe nights on the 5th! haha! I wasn't able to snag a dessert party ressie though. Only booked this a few weeks ago, but stalking for a cancellation!

Ride R&R over and over. Eat at Tangerine Café and other places I like that my family does not. Watch a number of street performers in World Showcase. See the It's Tough to be a Bug show, which my DD absolutely refuses to see (it scared her when she was 5, 12 years later she still refuses to see it). Ride POTC a number of times. Relax at the pool.

And this may sound weird, but I really enjoy people-watching.

Me, too! I travel sometimes for work solo and I like to grab a seat at the bar for a meal, chat up the bartender a little, and watch people.

I would definitely shop more, spend more time taking in exhibits at EPCOT, eat several small meals a day at several different places and park hop like crazy.

And yes, I would probably spend more time working on "artsy" photos.

I love my solo trips, have done trips to WDW with my daughter and family trips to DLRP with my sister and her family, my trips with just DD were good, but, even at 20 years old I was letting her get her own way, so no Buzz Lightyear or ToT four times on the trot. My trips to Paris with my sister and her kids was hell, they never surface until long after park opening and if I wanted to go ahead with DD they would complain and we ended up criss crossing the park for rides wasting so much time, glad those days are gone.

Anyway, think of a theme for your photos, one year I took photos of the garbage bins, sound odd? No as they all have theming and are clean and well maintained, also the stores are a treasure trove of photo ops, I love the giant in Sir Mickey's and the World of Disney, look above the merchandise shelves, fantastic. Solo trips are the best and are now becoming popular, so you will see lots of adults having so much fun on their own, they are probably the most chilled people at WDW :cool1:

When I did the college program back in 2005, I actually looked forward to having a day off when my friends had to work because it meant I was going to the park solo. It's fun to be there with friends and family, but solo is a real treasure. You will likely be surprised at the things you never noticed before because when you are flying solo, you go at exactly your pace, aren't constantly checking to make sure that your friends, spouse, children, etc. are still with you, and are able to really look around. Disney excels at the details! I would definitely arrive at Rope Drop so as to get in every last second of "me time". I would take time to look at the shops on Main Street and Hollywood Boulevard. Even if you don't go in, look at the names of the shops, the names above the doors, and all those little things. Take in some street shows at each of the parks. Leisurely ride People Mover, the train, and Liberty Square Riverboat. Stroll World Showcase and take in how it really is a treat for all 5 senses. No reason to not do some of your favorite rides, but definitely just slow down and take things in.

Thank you!

I can't do FP+ in advance because it's not available to me until the day I enter the park. I also don't care if I ride much. There's plenty of time for that in my upcoming family trip. I will hit my faves in the morning for rope drop. Also, there's single rider. So, I don't see myself waiting in line much.

Love the photography ideas. Also love the strolling and people watching. NEVER have time for that. I'm thinking of the villains card game at mk too! Never tried that. Looking forward to eating meals alone too. Actually sitting and enjoying my meal. Figure as a party of one I'll be able to find some TS but did book two. Street performers and world showcase movies...great!

Most importantly I'm looking forward to doing what I want when I want to!!

Oh too funny! Maybe I'll see you around then! :)
