If you use Windows Live Messenger, you can make a difference. By simply adding a text code at the end of your username, Microsoft will donate towards several charities.

The text codes are as follows:
*red+u is for American Red Cross
*bgca is for Boys & Girls Club of America
*hsus is for Humane Society of the US
*naf is for National AIDS Fund
*mssoc is for National MS Society
*9mil is for ninemillion.org
*sierra is for Sierra Club
*help is for StopGlobalWarming.com
*komen is for Susan G. Komen for the Cure
*unicef is for US fund for UNICEF

This costs nothing to do and can help so many. Put your chat to good use :)

Wow! Thanks, friend!! I'm not sure what you mean by adding the code to my user name. I've always used my email address to sign into MSN. Is that what I need to change?

Where you change your name at the top, you put the star and then the letters after your name. AFTER you've logged in.

I now have a cool little IM icon after my name :)

Thanks! I've been wondering what that was for a while, I never really thought to look around the site much. I'm gonna have to starting sending more instant messages now.

Cool! Thank you! I just added a charity code to my name. Very easy to do once MagicalLadee explained it. Thanks :)

Just bumping this up to the top. It's VERY easy to do, and the charity of your choice benefits from your chatting. Now you can chat all you want "guilt free"! :teeth:
