This news story was also on our news tonight. They said this guy's bad day apparently started when he lost his hearing aid.

A Metro train struck a pedestrian about 4 p.m. near Reliant Park, then the ambulance carrying the victim was struck by a car en route to Ben Taub Hospital.

The unidentified pedestrian was attempting to cross Fannin Street from the Reliant Park Station platform when he got hit by a southbound train entering the station, said Metro spokesman Ken Connaughton.

The man is the first pedestrian to be struck by a Metropolitan Transit Authority light rail train, though the trains have been involved in 25 collisions with vehicles since the Main Street line began full testing last fall. Passenger service started Jan. 1.

Connaughton said the victim suffered minor injuries after being grazed by the 49-ton train, with bruises to his left side, hand, and arm.

"He told officers he heard the train but thought it was coming from the other direction," Connaughton said.

As the ambulance headed to the hospital, a vehicle smashed into it in an intersection as a television news helicopter recorded from above. Damage appeared moderate; it's unknown whether anyone was injured in the second incident.

Poor guy. He was probably thinking, man, I lost my hearing aid. Man that really sucks. Then he's hit by the train and he's like, it can't get any worse than this. Then his ambulance is hit by a car on the way to the hospital. He must have like walked under a ladder, broke a mirror and had a black cat walk in front of him before he left his house this morning or something.

Here's a link to some video footage of the accident. It's nothing gorey. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/topstory/2454560

Poor guy. One of those days that makes you wish you'd never gotten out of bed.

This guy probably wished that, too---
True story. My husband who was LPD, made the run.

Guy girlfriend broke up with him, he lost his job--everything was going wrong with his life. So, he decided to commit suicide. He turned on the gas burners on his stove and lay down on the couch, intending to go to sleep and never wake up.

Problem was, this guy had a two story house, so, while he slept, the gas merely drifted up to the second floor.

After a few hours, he awoke, ticked off with the "I can't even do this right" attitude. He turned the burners off, and headed upstairs to shower and dress to go to a friends house.

As he went up the stairs (to the fume filled second floor), he lit a cigarette....

Yep---blew the house up. He was thrown from the second floor into the front yard. Had a couple of broken bones, but, nothing life threatening.

His house?? It was in bits and pieces all over the block.

Gosh, these two guys must have done something really bad to tick off the universe or something. I just hope I never have one of these types of days
