If you think the refillable mug people are bad ...

Took the kids to Chuck E Cheese. The family at the table beside us had plastic cups that looked 20 years old. You know how plastic cups get those wear lines after they've been washed 700 times in the dishwasher? One even had duck tape.

What some people won't do to save $1.99.

the roll of "duct" tape had to cost more than that.......must have been an attachment type of thing:)

I have a feeling that family would much rather be able to buy drinks for their family then bring in used plastic cups.. something tells me financially they are unable to do so. it saddens me how so many people are struggling financially in the world today.

I was not there so its just a personal assumption based on the facts the OP wrote. while there could be a myriad of different reasons why the family brought in their own cups, if I saw a situation like that in today's economy I would think it would be because they are in fact trying to save 1.99

Chuck E Cheese sells reusable cups that they tell you you can bring in for refills as often as you like. So, if that is what they were using, they were doing nothing wrong, other than saving money.

While technically doing nothing wrong, there comes a point when you have to bite the bullet and buy new ones. They weren't financially without, just "thrifty" when it comes to the cups. Can't be sure obviously, but from what they were wearing, they didn't look the part.

I dont think the "refillable mug people" are bad.

I question the people who spend their vacation time monitoring and judging the "refillable mug people" and then spend even more precious time fretting about it.

As Pete once said..."it's SODA folks.....get over it."

knew a fella once that everytime he took his dog out it would sniff around a tree for awhile then walk back over to the guy and pee on his leg.......did it all the time.......one day someone else asked "why doesnt he do something about that?".........the answer was "if he dont care why should you".........it is indeed just, as i call it, "pop".

Is that like the refillable toilet people?

I can't even stand the smell of Chucky Cheese ... and I haven't been in one in 20 years.

Even worse than them are the poeple hacking on them for brining the cups in. People that judge give me a laugh every time. There are those that are always better. Glass houses.........:rotfl2:

Too true! As I often tell my students - "Don't worry about what everyone else is doing, worry about you."

I would agree with this statement completely, if not for one small detail:

Pete, if you're listening, it's called pop, not soda. ;)

Seriously, it's so true. Like that worn out expression goes: Don't sweat the small stuff.

And what someone said up thread is true. Chuck E Cheese cups you buy are like the ones at the gas station, you can bring them in anytime for a refill.
Unfortunately I've been to Chuck E Cheese enough times to know this.

Wow! I didn't realize.
I have two refillable mugs. Perhaps I will bring them both back and fill one with pop and one with soda.

Bring your Thermos.

It'll keep the soda / pop cold for an hour or two....unlike a HydroFlask which will keep it cold all day and offer money back to charity....including GKTW.:)

Ha ha, Kevin!

Both hydration bottles, the Thermos and the Hydroflask, use vacuum insulation technology to keeps liquids cold all day.

The vacuum makes the bottle unsuitable for carbonated beverages. The beverage would "explode" when the bottle is opened to drink. But, if you want me to try, I will make sure I am standing near you when the soda/pop sprays all over! :goodvibes:lmao::goodvibes

The HydroFlask is metal inside and out and works well with soda / pop. I use mine for Diet Coke frequently with no explosions.

And they give part of the price paid to charities...including GKTW.
