If you saw a ghost in your hotel room, what would you do immediately after?

It would depend on who showed up. If it was some of my family, I would just hang out. A historical figure, I might have some questions. A random stranger, tell them to find another room.

I have not seen a ghost myself, although I have heard someone walking in an empty room. My mom and my sister have seen them, mom in the house I grew up in, and my sister at work when the building was under renovation. They just watched until the apparition disappeared.

Have you encountered ghosts in hotel rooms?
I did in high school (as I have shared the story on the Disboards before), I did twice at work (it was an old historical property), twice in Lake George NY, and once in Mystic Seaport CT. Not in a hotel yet, but I've heard some of the Disney hotels are haunted. Disney just doesn't want to talk about it, I guess. They probably think their profits would take a hit. :confused3 I'm religious so I guess this stuff doesn't shock me. My college was known to be haunted too but I never went looking for ghosts. Classmates that did didn't really want to talk much about what they thought they saw.

I'd tell it that I mean it no harm and that I hope it/they/he/she has a good night. And then I'd go back to bed.

I've had some weird encounters in an office building I used to work in. Had to work a lot of hours late on a Friday and all day on Sat & Sun over a weekend because of a big project that was finishing up. There were phantom typists (sound of somebody typing on a keyboard, but you'd go over a couple of rows in the cubicle farm and there is literally nobody in the entire building but me and the security guy). Movement also of weird people-shaped shadows that couldn't be explained.

Talked to the security guard some time later. He had all sorts of wild tales to tell, had some very vivid encounters.

Whatever you do, don't ever use a ouija board.

Ghosts and demons aren't real. Might as well see goblins, trolls, and Bigfoot, with all the BC bud you're inhaling downwind from Canada.

Could also just be a nude person who pulled a sheet over themselves frantically, having stepped into the wrong room. Happens all the time.

It's easier for someone who hasn't seen/experienced something paranormal to deny it's existence absolutely compared to those who have experienced something first hand and find it hard to dismiss it. I fully respect your view but those who have experienced something aren't automatically crazy either.:confused3

Apparently, I make excuses and go back to sleep. :rotfl:

In the late 90s, DH and I did a 1920s murder mystery dinner (along with some friends) at the Stone Lion Inn in Guthrie, OK. Guests for the evening stayed the night in the inn and a couple of other B&Bs owned by the host. Our room was in a building downtown, across from a bar/saloon. There was also a western celebration happening that weekend, so the streets and saloon were really active late into the night. I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling weird, thinking something felt off ... but I thought the evening's murder mystery and being in an unfamiliar place was the reason.

The following morning when we met back at the inn for breakfast, our host told us about the history of the home, all the ghosts, which rooms were affected, and stories from previous guest experiences. The main inn apparently had been a funeral home at one point and had several spirits. Our building also supposedly had a ghost. It was a great experience, but we decided once was enough. :) If interested, there's a few videos on youtube about the haunted inn.

The original parts of the school building where I teach was built in the 1890s. There's a few good stories about eerie experiences from colleagues who I believe. That said, I will always be too busy to chaperone any all-nighters in the school. :)

I'm with the couple of people who say ghosts just aren't real. So I'd wake myself up, turn on the lights. Almost certainly I'd figure this or that thing was making a shadow, and I'd laugh at the situation.

I'm also with those who say that demons do exist -- as do angels -- but I doubt I'm important enough for any of them to come after me.
