If you received and engagement ring from Costco,

I have friends with more money than God. They're not cheap , they have beautiful homes, enjoy wonderful trips , lovely everything. She isn't into jewelry but her husband who's very educated and savvy said if she were, he'd buy her a beautiful diamond from Costco because he's researched and they have excellent quality stones and good value.

So, no ..I'd be tickled! Lol
That said, I don't need one more piece of jewelry !

But honey. Glass is just as pretty as a diamond.

But honey. This is GENUINE cubic Zirconia.

But honey. Your pandora is pewter, why not your wedding ring?

But honey. It's a great quality diamond stone and I saved $1,000 at Costco. And out of all of em I saw, I pictured that one looking the best.

I would think any woman would much rather hear the fourth one.

OOOOOO A zombie thread.

7 out of 10 zombies said they aren't offended by the ring the woman wears. It's the brains that count.
3 out of 10 zombies disagreed and said genuine diamond hurts their teeth when the chew but said my assistants looked like they had good brains.

So we ended the survey and got out of there.

I did receive a Costco engagement ring and I love it! The quality of the diamonds are far superior than what my husband would have gotten at a jewellery store for the same price. In fact, we purchases my wedding band there too and it's beautiful.

Good brains or tasty brains?!??

If someone's response to getting engaged is to get offended about where the ring came from, they probably shouldn't be getting married...

Who is Costco and why would he give me a ring?:hippie:

I've been married 33 years and never had an engagement ring. Last Christmas my husband bought me a stunning 3 caret ring at Costco. It cost about 4500 which I only know because I needed to put it on our insurance. A similar ring at a high quality store would have cost three times that much. I was thrilled.

If she complained about the size/cost of the ring my response would be to say good bye and take the ring back. To judged by that is shallow. I know someone who will be married 50 years. He got her the ring he could afford. He offered to get her a better one when he was able to afford it. Her answer was no way.

Shame on any woman that would be upset where he purchased the ring, how much money, the size, whatever. If that is so important then I can see problems in the future with other things.

I agree. But I have to add that by the time he buys the ring, he probably already knows if he has someone that high maintenance on his hands.

I don't know boo about diamonds and wouldn't know the first place to look let alone what to look. My taste in general is simple and classic and I would hope if someone knew me well enough to propose that he would know what kind of ring to get me and I wouldn't care where it came from, I wouldn't even want to necessarily know. I would want a proposal to be a surprise though, not a grand event surprise but a surprise all the same.

There's a ridiculous amount of markup in retail jewelry. Costco sells of top-grade items.

OP was last seen about a year ago. Most be enjoying marital bliss. :)

I noticed that. Beyond a watch and the occasional pair of earrings I am not a jewelry person but from time to time I will look at the Pandora bracelets or a birthstone ring and just shake my head.
