If you received and engagement ring from Costco,

No, all of our wedding rings and my engagement ring came from Sam's.

No not at all. My diamonds are from my Mother's original ring and were purchased at Sears.

Also, it was brought up in another thread but I will address it here. If I was getting engaged and my future husband bought a huge diamond, I would ask him to exchange it for something smaller. Not my style. Hopefully he would already know that, but I think the cost and the actual ring getting caught on everything would make me very uncomfortable.

I would rather have a cheap imitation ring within our budget than one that makes me feel guilty to wear it.

Gorgeous ring CF'er :) and looking at my hands thanks for the reminder that I desperately need a manicure

Costco is fine. I mean, they sell Dom Perignon and sometimes $10,000 watches.

Not sure about Wal-Mart though. They don't have enough security to handle a breach if someone did a smash and grab of anything truly expensive. I've looked, and nothing there is anything close to the moderate range what at a moderate end jewelry store.

My cousin got hers at the Diamond District in NYC. She said her fiancé could get way more for the money there. I've also heard of individuals buying from wholesalers, like at the Jewelry Mart in San Francisco. An individual could get an appointment and be buzzed in to one of the businesses.

Nope, not at all. I actually posted a thread a while ago asking how to stop caring that a ring I wanted came from walmart. I ended up buying it and can't wait to wear it in December as my wedding ring <3

I know where they came from as we went there together and I picked it out. Did our shopping too and hubby lived. I love him and the ring and there is NO WAY he would have gone into a bunch of jewelry stores looking. It worked out great for all.

Clark Howard, money guru on radio and HLN, bought his wife a $20,000 ring from Sam's. That and a pack of socks are on the receipt. If it's good enough for him...

I have drooled over the diamonds at Costco many times, so, no I would not be offended in any way. Besides, many of those rings are in the $10,000-$20,000 range. Not exactly something that could be call a knockoff or cheap IMO.

I love that - big ol honkin diamond, and a pair of socks. :rotfl:
