If you live far from Disney...

Which of these best describes how you feel

  • I wish I lived a couple hours from Disney World so I could take short road trips.

  • I wish I lived right near Disney World.

  • I wish I lived INSIDE Disney World!

  • I'd rather stay far away. It makes it all the more special when I visit.

We're only 34 miles away, so we go every weekend, but still our goal is to move closer as soon as our lease is up!

Ppl often ask me if the magic fades, so far for us it hasn't, it seems that the more the CM's in the park get to know us the more magical it is. One reason for that is that we can find out what families are sitting near us are there for the first time and nudge the CM's occasionally so that something magical can happen to the new families, we love to watch it happen to others as much or more than we like it happening to ourselves I think....

Well I would like to live right near Disney- but I can't do that because MIL lives right by Disney..so I picked inside Disney since she never would pay the admission to get in. I think I would pick Minnies house rather than the castle- too stuffy. princess:

I would live in Celebration. When ever we went out to dinner, or were bored, or depressed, we would just hop on over. ::yes::

Though I always joke that I wished I lived closer to WDW, I dont mind being this far, it makes the trips so much more special for us. :)

I like living far away. If we lived closer we would go to often and it would lose some of the magic.

I want to live INSIDE the castle!! Why drive for two hours or why even bother driving at all while you can wake up and not move at all!! You're right there!

Even though I live right near there at this moment, my home is in Texas :( I would love to move her permanently :)

We're happy living where we do and going on our annual to WDW. It's a very special trip, and the distance seems to make it more unique.

My parents just bought a 2nd home about 45 minutes north of WDW... Currently, our plan is to all move into that area within the next ten years.

While I love the idea of living close to Disney & going a lot, I just think some of the magic would be lost if we lived to close.

DH & I had once discussed moving near WDW & how we could go all the time. He said "We can go for the day & go home."

My first thought was "But what about staying weekends & stuff at the hotels? Especially for special occasions?"

DH said "Why would we do that if we lived close?"

No WL?!?!? I will stay in TX & go visit Disney instead...LOL!

Well secretly I'd like to live INSIDE WDW, but I would love to live within a couple of hours that we could take more road trips. I think if I lived too close it would loose the "magic". Plus I like staying in hotels. If you lived right there I'd probably just get to go for a day here or there. Its not the same.

I'd really like to live within 30 minutes of WDW. Close enough to head over just for a meal or to catch the fireworks or to just pop over abit during the day. I'd love having Down Town Disney as my movie/out to dinner/get out of the house for abit spot.

2 hours or more and I might as well stay in Maryland. It's less then a 2 hour flight to WDW now anyway. ;)

I'll live inside Disney, thank you very much! Can you imagine waking up every morning to the sight of Cinderella castle? :earseek:

How wonderful. :flower: Just look up and wave :wave2: at me.When I wake up in the morning I will look out my window at Mainstreet and see the first guests arriving. You see I will be living in the apartment that's in the castle. :cheer2:
Well,I can dream Can't I? :goodvibes

I live in California. It is a 5.5 - 8 hour drive to Disneyland and a long air trip to Orlando. I am happy with the distance to DL but wished I was about 4 hours away from WDW. Far enough away so that I didn't go all the time but close enough to do long weekends there a few times a year.

I hope DisneyAddict M and Fantasia can find room in the Castle for my family too, because thats definelty where I would love to live!

I voted for the first choice. DW and I have already decided that when both DS's are out of the house, we will sell it and move to the Fort Myers area. So we will be able to take those short(kind of any way) same day trips to the world. :earsboy:

I say they should entend the Shuttle Buses throughout the country so that everyone is no more than 2 hours away from a Shuttle Bus station so that everyone could go more often.

Wait! The crowds would be horrendous.

Second thought, how about at least two more parks in different areas of the country, would be almost as good.

Wait! The weather. (groan)

How much are you willing to pay to have the parks under glass? If it were air condtioned bet DW could be covered as well.

Going off to do some more thinking. I do a lot of that, not good, but at least I am trying.
