If you like Crocs, you better buy them NOW.

I don't think you can blame it on the economy...maybe a little, but it was a fad (that I just jumped on board...yes, I know, I'm a trendsetter!)

For tradeshows, they're so much better than sneakers! AND cheaper... I'm amazed and so sad I'm just now discovering it. If they do go out of business, I'm stocking up...

I'm not a croc wearer, but if I was, I wouldn't be worried. The people that need to be worried are the Croc stockholders. If the company goes bankrupt, it doesn't just go away. Bankruptcy means that the current owners (the stockholders) can't pay the people to whom they owe money. At that point, the people that are owed the money can either just sell off whatever the company has and split up the remaining money, or they can take over the company and start running it. The latter is more likely to happen. So Croc will get new owners after bankruptcy, they'll shed lots of employees, factories, etc. The new Croc company will be smaller, but as long as their is a profitable demand for their shoes, they'll keep making them.

I do not wear them but know several that do and  their Crocs.
I guess it's just like Disney. Some people just don't get it. ;)

I have often wondered why people seem to feel like it is their business to criticize what shoes other people wear?:confused3 I mean, really, if you don't like them, don't wear them. And if you don't like that I wear them, don't look at them. It's really pretty simple, you know?
:thumbsup2

Oh...I can only dream this is true.

WHY would you want more jobs to be lost! :confused3

Keens! DS loves them and they look much nicer than Crocs (although I think Crocs on the little ones look cute).

Wow they ought to for $99!!! I'll stick with my ugly cheap Crocs. ( I did like the look of the Keens, but that is way to rich for my blood.)

I shop around and found the kids for $26. I think I paid about $50 for mine at the end of last summer. They are definitely worth it.

I looked at REI website and they had ladies Keens at $99. I may go $50, but I don't even pay $99 for my other ugly shoes-my Birkenstocks. I think I'll just go barefoot!:lmao:

I may search around for cheaper Keens, like I said I did like the look of them.

Here's the site I was looking at, some are close to $100 or more. ( I was looking at adult shoes.) http://www.rei.com/gear/feature/sea...eferralID=NA&gclid=CLbUidL-3ZsCFRifnAodl2MV_Q

DD just got her first pair of Mickey Crocs and loves them so much she wants to wear them to bed. She's 2! What now?!?

My DS LOVES his Blue Mickey ones. He is almost outgrowing his current one. I'll have to get the next two sizes up just to be safe! They are so cute on them! My DS is 2 as well!

Maybe the actual Crocs brand will be gone or bought by someone else, but the style will stay around as every company seems to have their own line now.

I agree the shoes and the shoestyles will stuck around because of other companies.

The way the Crocs looked really bugged me so I never tried them. My mom, sister and a lot of relatives have pairs and like them. One of my coworkers bought a knockoff pair from a grocery store to use when she does gardening and other stuff and she said there were just as good as the Crocs brand.

I saw LL Bean's version of CROCS in one of the Bean clearance fliers LAST YEAR = $9.95 Woo Hoo!! :woohoo: So I bought navy blue to try them out...LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Went back to Bean's website and bought pink and lime green....so for the price of one pair of real CROCS I was able to snag THREE Bean Crocs. AND they are COMFY....not the KMart, WAL-Mart, Target type hard plastic knock-off!!! I have Crocs Beach and the Crocs Mammoth but I really like the Bean Crocs ALLOT!!!

I just checked the Bean site...they are STILL $9.95!!! What is even funnier is on the Bean's website, I typed in CROCS in their search box and it took me right to their COASTAL CLOGS!!! :yay:
Another fan of LL Bean's coastal clogs here. I have them in dark pink, light pink, navy, tan (wearing them now :)), velveeta orange  (didn't quite expect them to be THAT color when I ordered them, but they're good in the fall :)), purple, royal blue and green. I started out with one pair and loved them. They're comfy and not as "duck-like" as Crocs. Originally, they had a strap, but the strap didn't adjust...you had to take it off and reposition it. And I was forever kicking the straps off when I walked. So I just took them off, and there's the connector still on the shoes, but :confused3 oh well. The newer version doesn't have the strap at all.

I do, however, also have Crocs. Navy, black, kelly green (on sale...to wear to certain sports events :thumbsup2), orange (don't ask), and then light blue mammouths that I pretty much wear as slippers.

I also have a pair of tan cheapos with a lining that I got at The Christmas Tree Shops for something like $7.99 that I love too. However, I bought them again in black and hated them...they just didn't seem "right". :confused3

Maybe Crocs should cut back on some of their styles ... they have so many now...go back to basics and lower the price a little. I think Crocs are expensive. I have 2 pair of Mickey Crocs that I got on sale from their website for $14.99 with free shipping. I would like to buy some regular non-Mickey ones, but I don't want to pay $25 - $30. To me, even though I LOVE my Crocs, it's a $20 shoe or less and now I'm going to check LL Bean's version, if they can sell them for $9.99, why can't Crocs?

Now that is a GREAT deal. I love CROCS but I am NOT going to pay $30.00+ for a pair when I can get basically the same shoe from Beans or LandsEnd for 1/2 the price.

Yes, I think Crocs needs to BACK UP, get back to a basic Croc and reduce the price.

As the reigning queen of Crocs, I am most upset by this news. I have about 10 pairs of the things. I'll need to order some extras just in case. On the one hand, my DH is dancing around in his boxers at the possibility of no more crocs.

Man, those shoes look bad with EVERYTHING. I never understood why injection molded plastic shoes from china cost $30 anyway. I guess people finally got smart.

They are comfortable and not everyone wears stillettos to the grocery. kiwm?
