If you have visited 4 times since 1998 . . .

Why do they ask you this crazy question each time you call? I enter my reservation number, then they tell me if I've visted more than 4 times since 1998 and 1 since 2001 or something like that, press 1...

Good question. They seem to know everything about you already anyway.

I wonder if you say yes, than they put you in a longer hold line because they know they will have your business anyway, you're a WDW addict.

Maybe if you respond No they route the call to a more experienced agent? Or the call statistic (length of call) is put on a different chart and not compared against calls from regular visitor. I imagine Disney keeps a bunch of metrics on their call centers. I always like to ask them where they are. This week when I called for the AP discount I was talking to a lady in Utah! Usually I get the Tampa call center. :earsboy:

How bizarre! I called WDW this morning and heard that and thought that I needed to post on DIS and see what the difference is!

I have pressed 1s and 2s at random. It doesn't matter. I just press one of them immediately (without listening to the question) to get through faster. I learned that on page 112 of the CRT FAQ...you press 12 after calling Disney Dining. That is actually saying that you are visitng in the next 7 days or are calling from the Orlando area, but it gets you though fast and no one has ever said "What do you mean you want a PS for June and you're calling from Texas??!!"

If you will really need to get though fast, do a "dry run" on the 800 number and listen to the options and write down the numbers you can press that will get you through faster. I did this before the AP codes came out and I had no hold at all.

I called CRO yesterday and had no problem getting through since I called between 1pm and 8pm, but I did check every couple hours to see if they were still busy earlier in the day... very happy I wait. Five minutes later I was already done getting my FL discount and was off to my computer! :)

They ask that because they have different teams of CM's to help the different types of guests. The calls from guests who have been so many times since whatever dates are routed to the "Worldphile" team of CMs, while guests who have never been are routed to another team.

What irritated me when I called the other night was the CM demanding to know "How many times have you been." My first glib answer was "Too many to count." She then demanded to know "How many - I need a number."

I realize it was "6 minutes before her shift ended" on the day AP rates came out, but give me a break - no pixie dust here. Normally I would have hung up and called back, but since I had already been on hold for nearly 30 minutes, I wasn't starting all over.

Oh well, got my rooms (not AP rates) for November. Now I just need to change resorts.

Also, what I don't understand is why punch in your home phone # when asked by the automated mchine and then later, the CRO will ask you the same thing and of course you tell them. What if I put the wrong # or different number... maybe they just want your area code so then they can track it down for marketing purpose.

But you see, when I call CRO, I just give them all the infos they need even before being asked. I know the drill. One CRO said to me, "you know it huh." I just told her that "I have called many times and been to disney many times, I know how it goes."

I wonder too why they ask for the phone number, because I've had CM's repeat the number I punched in initially before I gave them any identifying information. They must be able to see the information on the screen.

I've always wondered about what kind of history they have on us in the system? Do they keep track of our visits based on our address or phone number? Also, what if we book through a TA - does the CRO still have our history of visits?

:)

When I was changing my ressies to the AP rate, the CM said he could see that I had also starting planning a trip staying at Saratoga Springs. Now I admit that I've looked at pictures of Saratoga Springs on line, but I've looked at just about all of the resorts on line. I've gotten rate quotes on line from Disney on about 6 resorts, at all different times of year, but somehow, Saratoga Springs showed up on his screen. (I've never had a ressie at SS.)

I called once to change a PS time and he said, "Wow! You make a lot of PSs!" Then he listed off some and they were from previous trips!

What gets me is when I try to make a ressie and they tell me that a room at the Allstars won't sleep 2 adults and my 5 kids! Geez we took the nieces and newphew 1 time and CR thinks that they come every time. I ask them to take them off of my record, but they never do. I guess they want me to bring them so I spend more!

Just think what the FBI/CIA could do with the info that WDW has on us! ;)
Sometimes it's just scarey! Next, they'll be keeping track of our DIS threads!!

I think they know EVERYTHING! It's a bit spooky if ya ask me!

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" by heart NOW! :earseek: Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me.... :rotfl:
