how small are they? We have two small children who will be 3 and almost 1 on our next trip. We will need room for a pack n play in the room. They look very small on the BLT website. We were spoiled with a spacious 1 Bedroom at BCV on our last trip. The location of BLT is prime for us but not sure we can afford a 1 bedroom there, we may have to consider a 1 bedroom at a different location if these studios are too small. Any opinions you have on if we would be comfortable or not in a studio would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! The BLT studios are small but I think you may still have room for a pack and play as long as you don't plan on using the pull out couch. It was plenty big enough for just DH and I for our 2 week wedding/honeymoon trip. If you plan on using the couch I would get a one bedroom. Good Luck.

The studios are quite small. We are a family of 3 and it felt like a regular hotel room. If you're fine in a hotel room then you will be fine in a BLT studio. But there is no way you should compare it to a BCV 1-bedroom or you will be bound to be disappointed.

We stayed in studion with 4 adults. It is small, especially when couch is open. There is a lot of storage though, so try and unpack everything so you don't have suitcases around. As someone else said, I don't believe you will have room for pack and play.

It's small -- I felt cramped (and I was solo), and was more comfortable when I moved to a motel offsite later in the trip.

Here's my little report about it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2550790&page=2 -- (with photos) --
They have been in the process of fixing the bathroom sink and bathroom door situation -- so that should be better for you.

How many days are you planning on staying? A couple of days should be fine, but a week would be touchy. With little ones, it would be much nicer to have the 1BR for laundry and kitchen with little ones (as well as more room).

I'm going to try to stay there again in a studio with my DD and DGS just to have the experience -- but we will not be comfortable; it will be a short (1 or 2 night) stay.

we spent a week in one in december - 4 of us, myself, DH, DS6 & DS3 and we were very pleasantly surprised after the reviews I had read before we arrived. We were carrying enough luggage to see us through our 4 week trip (we took a lot more than usual, because we had packed for all types of weather as it was december, we also had cruise outfits, christmas gifts and a whole case of fish extender gifts for the cruise) and we had ample room.

There is a large space as you come in the entrance door and we actually kept all our luggage there along with all our shoes, coats etc.

We then subsequently moved to a 1 bed at Kidani and obviously they are markedly different in size but I still would have no qualms about staying in a BLT studio again - infact we would even spend a fortnight - thats how happy we were!!!:thumbsup2 (I will quantify it by saying that we are more than happy to go to bed at the same time as our children as we are usually exhausted - but even then, we loved the balcony, so could easily sit out there while we waited for the children to go to sleep:))

I must also add (again contrary to a lot of opinions I have read) - we LOVED the layout of the kitchen area - whilst i look forward to them moving the 2nd sink into the bathrooms, I really liked the way the kitchen area felt like a seperate room, rather than just a sink/microwave/fridge in the corridor of the main room:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hope that helps a little:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We stayed in a studio last summer at BLT and it was certainly the smallest room we have ever encountered at a DVC property. We have stayed at studios in AKV, OKW, SSR, and VWL. The BLT studios will not compare to a one bedroom so don't expect it to be even somewhat close. We have 2 adults and one child who was 12 on last year's trip. We basically re-arranged the room by moving the tables a bit, stacked the cushions under the pull-out, and it worked. I think as the PP suggested, if you don't use the pull-out your pack and play will work. Or you can use the pull-out for sleeping and fold the pack and play over night. Bottom line, I bet you can get the room to work for you if you just get a bit creative with the set up. Even though the room will be small, you will love the location. After a day or two you get used to the bathroom/kitchen set up, so it's not a big deal. And as my father used to tell me, all hotel rooms look alike at night once you turn off the lights!! But the VIEW from BLT...wow.

Are you planning on using the sofa bed AND a pack 'n play? That will be very tight. I suggest looking at the room layout and "imagining" where you'll put the pack 'n play. Just warning you...the "living area" (bed/sofa/table/tv area) is about 13' square. Yes, I measured. We made it work for 3 adults, but it was indeed a tight squeeze. You HAVE to put the luggage in the lock-off door area, or it won't work. Other than that, be creative with the sofa cushion storage, put the footstool under the over-hanging ledge on the tv cabinet, and keep things put away.

DEFINITELY enjoy whatever view you have...it is indeed unique! And enjoy being that close to the Magic Kingdom!

After staying in a studio there last year, my wife informed me that was our last stay in a studio period. Pretty darn small. One upside is that you can squeeze the pack n play into the mostly enclosed kitchenette, which provides a little separation for light and noise come bedtime.

When the sleeper sofa is opened, you have to climb over the end of the sleeper sofa and the bed to get into it for bed. There is no room between the bed and the sleeper sofa when it is opened up.

It's very tiny.

Have you thought about a one bedroom at VWL? Just a quick boat ride over to the MK.

I completely agree with you! :thumbsup2
When my wife and I were there last April, we had not problem with that area. Having it offset from everything else gives it the "feel" of having another room.

We stayed with 4 for two nights and while I would probably not do it again unless I was forced to, I think with little ones, you will be fine. If you want to keep the pack and play in the room with the bed and sleeper sofa, you will have to move the table and chair over near the lock off door.

We put all of our suitcases there and honestly, it wasn't that bad, especially when the sofa was not out.

It's tight. There was virtually no walking room when the couch was open. I think you'd have to put the pnp in the hallway, but then not sure how you'd get to the bathroom in the middle of the night. We were surprised at how much more cramped it felt than the AKV studios and we've only stayed in value studios there. At AKV, the space between the bed and couch seems big enough for a pnp, I don't think it is at BLT.

Maybe look into WL? You'd still be close to MK w/ the boat and the rest of the transportation, imo, is the same. We found the monorail to Epcot to be extremely inconvenient. Maybe we just caught it on a bad day, but it took us about 45 min each way. The bus transportation from BLT to DHS and AK is also very slow when you have to stop at GF and the Poly.

We stayed in a BLT SV studio with 2 13 yo boys. One of the boys weighed 165 and wore the same size pants as DH, the other, my DS is scrawny LOL. Some of the things we do is put everything away - luggage goes in the closet. When we use a sleep sofa - it gets put away every morning, beds are made, things are put away. We didn't have any problem walking around the bed and the sofa bed when it was out. :confused3 Maybe because we had everything "put away".

The entrance area in our studio was big enough for a pack n play, with plenty of room to get around it.

Thank you all! I think we are just going to go with it, I am sure we can make it work. It is just DH and I with a double stroller and two little ones, so being able to walk to MK and get on the monorail will be priceless. We spent 3 days at MK last time and I am sure it will be the same this time with a 3 1/2 year old princess :lovestruc. Plus we love to dine at the Monorail resorts so that will be convenient. I loved having the space of a 1 bedroom but I think this time the location beats the space. :thumbsup2

I honestly do think you will be fine, but out of interest please do let us know how you get on. Have a great trip!!:thumbsup2

I agree too. I loved all the space under the sink. Lots of shelves to put things away.

We (2 adults & a 9 year old) spent 10 nights in a BLT Studio. It was like staying in a regular room. It was small but there are a lot of storage places to put everything away.

So, in the spirit of "forewarned is forearmed" and "attitude is everything" -- you should be fine. Knowing what to expect and concentrating on the positive bennies of the location, rather than the little annoyances you may encounter can make it work for you. Have a great time!

We have stayed twice in a BLT studio with the PnP. The PnP fits nicely by the connecting door. :goodvibes

With a 3 year old I would suggest that you just let her sleep on the sofa and not pull it out. Last year my 10 year old did this (albeight in a 2br - LONG STORY:headache:) and he was very comfortable. He did not want the sofa opened and neither did I.
