If you have more than one day per park

If you plan to spend more than one day at a park, does it make sense to divide your time geographically? For example, first day at Epcot do Future World (rope drop day), second day at Epcot do World Showcase (fireworks day). First day at MK do Fantasyland and Tomorrowland (rope drop day), second day at MK do the other lands (fireworks day). Does this make sense as a strategy?

Those are popular plans.
But, there are many other plans, too.
Some like to just do their favorite rides on day-one,
then repeat that on day-2.
Decide what you prefer.

I like dividing geographically as you describe. We like doing just about everything, so its a good way to cover the park witjout tona of crossing back and forth.

Specifically in the case of Epcot, though, i like to try more left vs right with some of Future world and some World Showcase on each day. I do tjis because of the FP tiers that prevent you from getting a FP for soarin and test track on the same day, as well as because WS is so large that i like to split it up. (Gives me more chances to get yummy WS meals and snacks too)

Okay good. Sorry if it was a stupid question. :)
Not a stupid question! Just totally depends on how you like to tour! I do what you do. For a 2 day plan at Epcot I'll spend the first day hitting RD and riding everything in FutureWorld and then start with Mexico in World Showcase. For our second day we'll have FPP's for anything we want to ride again and then enjoy the time in World Showcase.
Magic Kingdom is tougher. This year we're doing RD Tomorrowland, some Fantasyland and then heading to the resort for a break. Dinner at CP and then Adventureland (Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets, Pirates) after dinner. For day two we'll finish Fantasyland, Frontierland and Liberty Square. We'll likely do Liberty Square and Frontierland after dinner.

That tends to be how we do it, although often our plans get thrown out the window because it'll be a Tomorrowland day and someone will really want to ride Pirates or something. But overall, I think it's a good choice to plan things out that way, it can definitely save on the amount of walking. Especially at Epcot, that is no joke how long a haul it can be from the front section of Future World into the World Showcase.

If you can get the fastpasses and meal reservations when you want them, there's nothing wrong with saving a few steps.

It is not a stupid question. People have all kinds of touring strategy when it comes to Disney parks, and dividing each up into quadrants is one of them.

WE usually do this with MK, and tend to start in Fantasyland on an early morning. We enter the park later on the second day and start in Fronteirland and adventure land.

In Epcot we always start in FW and then go to WC on the same day.

If we are there at Rope drop we travel all over the park to get as many headliners done the first two hours as possible. I think all the walking saves us time later waiting in line. But then we generally pick an area of the park for any additional time and stop all the extra walking as the park gets crowded. At Epcot the problem lies with the tiers. So we tend to do Soarin and then the attractions on that side of FW one day and then Test Track, Spaceship Earth and attractions to the left another. I like to divide the World a Showcase into two days and do all eating at Epcot there instead of FW. We are active and fit so all the walking does not bother us. If you have anyone in your party with mobility issues or if you have adults who do not exercise regularly, it may be wise to try and eliminate extra walking to make people feel more comfortable. It can be exhausting and hard on the body to do several miles a day if you are not used to it.

I divide my days up as well. Here are my plans:

Sunday, arrival day: 5/8- MK, then back to the resort to relax and drinks
Monday 5/9: AK then EPCOT that evening (I will divide EPCOT up into half the WS today. Not interested in Future World, except for Earth and Soarin is closed).
Tuesday 5/10: HS then MK at night
Wed 5/11: AK then the other half of EPCOT WS at night
Thursday: MK and back to MK at night
Friday: departure day: AK until closing then fly away, lol.

I do like to divide the parks up. One side one day and the other side the next day. I plan on resting and taking breaks along the way because I am having my right knee replaced two weeks after this vacation and all that constant walking is going to bother me.

For example, first day at Epcot do Future World (rope drop day), second day at Epcot do World Showcase

This is how I handle Epcot. I have always done FW and WS on two different days. I've not really worried about it with MK or anywhere else before. But to me it is easiest to treat Epcot like 2 parks. When I go next year it could change. For one, I might only have one day there. For another, I will have 4 small children (6,5,3, and 18 months at the time) and am not sure how well they will handle WS. I'm not going to drag them through a bunch of stuff that they aren't interested in just to make sure I do it all. But if they are interested then I'm going all out!

I'm planning on dividing my days up as well. Right now I'm waiting for them to release park hours to decide how but I plan on booking my fast passes in the 2nd park I visit every day and probably visiting Magic Kingdom the most.

We're planning to take a leisurely approach for our trip. We're going to be there for 6 nights, so with park hopper we're going to take a "whatever we feel like doing" approach.

I understand being more organized for a shorter trip, though. I've done that myself.

I generally stay at the EPCOT resorts during Garden/Flower so every morning I go to EPCOT to see the flower gardens, then I go to a different park in the afternoons and evenings.

We plan on splitting them up geographically. It's easier with a three year old that way.
