I was super lucky this morning and snagged a cabana for our cruise next week! I understand they take us to the cabana in a golf cart, but from where? The ship or do we take the tram to serenity and then a golf cart?

Any information about any of the process would be great!

We are super excited!

You can do either. I'm guessing you are concierge on this sailing. Discuss it with them on board.

Nope not concierge, just got super lucky this morning. Thanks for the response!
Very, very lucky!!! In that case stop at Guest Relations before and ask them about the ability to get a golf cart directly from the ship to the cabana.

Literally just did the process three days ago. It is NOT like castaway cay. The golf cart does NOT go from ship to cabana, but is a 3 step process. It is NOT just for cabana guests, but for everyone that needs assistance. So there are no perks with the line. We were concierge. Having said that it was very smoothly done.

1) Guest relations will tell you the day before where to assemble…on the magic it was ‘fathoms’. Disembarkation time was listed as 10:15. They told us to start showing up at 9:30. The information details this is for those that need it and even party members that could walk, should. In reality no one was checking or judging and there were some able bodied parents with young children that showed up. Note, they said to start showing up at 9:30 but I am habitually early, showed up at 9:15, and 12 people were already there and ‘signed in’. Cast members took our room number and were very particular on where they sat us. The reason became clear later. By 9:30 I’d say there was 40 checked in. Here was the surprise, at 9:30 they actually called out the first group of 23 people and we were led off the ship. There were 5 golf carts waiting and they filled all the seats and then off we went. Note, no one else was being allowed to disembark yet. We were literally first off the ship.

2). The golf carts dropped us off at the other end of the pier and there was a short walk to the normal trams. They were running fast and there was only 5 people on my tram! No waiting around.

3) the tram drops you off at the normal spot. Maybe 50 steps away near the bathroom was a guy at a table under a beach umbrella… he asked if we had a cabana and then told us to get into a golf cart and he then completed the trip and dropped us off at our cabana.

“Pro-tip”. Note I said we were literally the first off the boat. No mad rope drop dash, just showed up 15 minutes early. On the videos you will see the gift shop at the tram destination is mobbed. We took advantage of being the first and were the only ones in the gift shop for 5 minutes. Everyone was eager to help. THEN we took that last golf cart to the cabana. Easy peasy. Even with shopping the total time was under 30 minutes. Very pleased.

Note, someone else described this on a previous cruise but they took a leisurely morning and showed up an hour later to fathoms and had to wait another hour for that first golf cart ride.

At the end of the day there was no appointed time or cast members taking our room number, there was simply a roped off line with benches to rest on and a couple of tables with umbrellas…and golf carts would show up and take folks to the boat. In our case we ‘waited’ two minutes. And they were taking all that wanted to ride.

It was clear improvements had been made since the early cruises.

Hope that helped!

That was probably me reporting on my experience at Lookout Cay.

Ah well you can understand my enthusiasm for serenity bay at lookout caycastaway cay is well known. 😂 but thanks again for correcting me.

P.s. I will blame my shameful lack of detective work on the late hour and just having come back from Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party and maybe a brief stop at trader Sam’s for a pina colada. Sorry for the confusion 😂

Yep and thank you, your answer helped. I asked you at the time if you thought your timing led to the delay.. anecdotal evidence here of course but showing up a bit early worked for moi 😂

Apparently I missed your question at the time. Sorry! To answer it now, yes no doubt that my timing contributed to some of the delay. There were many people in the meeting place that experienced similar delays.

Actually you did answer .. citing a similar many people thing, hence my strategy. But we digress. To get to serenity bay castaway cay cabanas we would ask concierge the day before, show up early and one simple trip later were there. As the OP is not concierge if they want golf cart service I would presume they would talk to guest services the day before.

OP - to answer your question, on the 7/25 Fantasy with a CC double-dip, we had a Serenity Bay cabana and were told to take the tram to Serenity Bay, and then given a ride to the cabana. We were given a ride back to the ship in the gold cart. We were not concierge, and we checked with guest services on the ship to ensure we understood. We then checked on the dock, too, and received the same answer. Other groups were told the same thing.

Also, we secured our cabana about two weeks before sailing. I checked one day and they had several available. I don't know if these are held back and then released, but it surprised me.

Enjoy the cabana! It was worth every single penny :-) .
