If you have free dining do you have to upgrade to deluxe immedietly

I am hoping to get free dining. I am considering upgrading to deluxe. Do you have to do that upon booking or how long do you have? thank you so much!!

No you don't. You can do it at any time as long as it is at least 72 hrs before arrival.

Thank you so much!! this is only our second time staying on site. I am splurging by staying at beach club. I could not decide on upgrading the dining plan. I was hoping i wouldn't need to make a fast decision on it My husband does not like disney. Of course I love it. He went one other time with a big group and we stayed at the Caribbean beach resort . My goal is to make sure he loves it this time. He hates the buses and He loves to eat so i researched a ton and found out beach club you can walk to 2 parks. I was thinking if I made the focus on food(and beer) he would like it lol. Im thinking this is my last time to convert him.

I'd do the upgrade at least 2 weeks out, though, otherwise you will likely be subject to a "last minute" package change fee.

I think you made a good resort choice! Hopefully he'll enjoy drinking and eating around EP! Also, if he hates buses, I would recommend using uber to AK, DS (if you plan on going) and MK (take uber to CR and walk to MK, or GF and take the monorail). We also hate the buses so we do this all the time now. It's not expensive and you don't have to wait for any buses!

Thank you for the suggestions. i will plan on doing it at least 2 weeks out... Thank you Marthasor. great idea for uber. we will have our 4 year old with us but i think they have the uber's with car seats? Im sure with it being in the disney area. I know people will say the deluxe dining will be to much sitting for a 4 year old but she is very good and has no problems sitting for meals(This is why I only have one so far I know my luck will run out with a 2nd child lol) Another reason i picked beach club is because they have babysitting. i don't like the idea of in room babysitting but beach club had the babysitting club thing where other kids will be there. so i plan on making use of that one night so hubby and I can go and enjoy a night at epcot and food and wine festival. I am very new to staying at disney resorts and really all the ins and outs of disney, but these boards have helped so much! I really appreciate you guys helping me out. thanks again!
