I have a Compaq, an HP and and Apple. The compaq was a real nice machine until the screen lamp went out. They want $1100 for the lamp, so I am using it as a desktop now. The HP has been nothing but trouble since I bought it. It went back to HP 4 times within the first year! The hard drive has a factory defect and recall, but it has been replaced twice. One other time I sent it back because the USB drives would not detect USB flash drives and some other peripherals. The last time I had to send it back because the DVDR wouldn't read or write DVDs anymore. The best machine I have is my Apple iBook G4 (actually, I prefer my iMac, but we are talking about laptops). The machine never crashes...ever...ever...really, ever. I have nothing but good to say about this machine (I am writing this on the G4). In fact, it was this machine that made me a convert to Apple. Since I purchased this one, I now have an iMac for the office, and a Mac Mini for the house. I run OSX on all of the machines, but when I need it I run Windows on the other two machines (this one does not have the Intel chip, so I sometimes have to run Virtual PC).
