If you hate the hat at DHS, now is the time to say something.

I really don't like the hat at all. The "park icon" for DHS has always been the Earful tower as far as I'm concerned.

:thumbsup2 I agree!

I plan to submit my opinion on this subject to Disney, as others should too if you feel for or against the Sorcerer's Hat. :wizard:

I would love to be able to walk into DHS and see Grauman's Chinese Theatre down Hollywood Blvd. Well for legal reasons it is called "The Chinese Theatre" at DHS. ;) The Walt Disney Company did not obtain permission to use the name "Grauman" (info from wikipedia.com ). It is a real shame that they block the beauty of the replica with an oversized open-air store. :confused3 I only know it with the hat. So, I found some pictures online pre-hat (from micechat.com) ...

Quote from Imagineer Bob Weis last year regarding the above picture, “And this is my favorite view of the Chinese Theater. You can’t get this view anymore. You may be aware of that. But I hope that we will get this view again some time soon.”

To me, the Sorcerer's Hat is an icon of Disney Imagineering. So, it does have a place at DHS, just not down Hollywood Blvd. in front of TGMR. There is a great spot in front of the park entrance where they put the Christmas tree every year. That would be a great spot for a smaller Sorcerer's hat and photo op (like the one they have at the Disneyland Hotel in California) or even in Animation Courtyard. Just my opinion. :wizard:

The hat by itself is fine. Where it is at is awful. It does not match the theme of the park. It needs to be moved somewhere else or just gotten rid of. IMHO it is an eye sore where it is at.

I totally agree.

I share some of the same sentiments as others here...I like the hat. I DON'T like where it is. I'd love it if they put it out in front of the park perhaps, somewhere as a good peice of art. But I hate it right in front of the theatre.

The hat itself is beautiful. It's location is awful!

And I also agree that they need to do something to bring the ride a little more up to date. I don't think they need to get rid of ALOT, but there are some parts that I don't really even get because I'm 25 and never watched those movies. Like the Tarzan area. Disney's is the only Taraon I've seen lol.

I do agree with this. It is more about where it is than the fact it exists. I still wish the earful tower was the official park icon though.

The Pictures gone so I cant see :( What did you mean?

I like the Hat - but then I liked the wand too which everyone seemed to dislike so I guess i'm going to be in the minority on this one:rotfl2:

I liked the wand also!

i tend to resist change.........i think both the wand and the hat strayed from the original idea...the wand looked like a carnival prop.....and the thing is, neither would be an expense that i could justify if it were up to me....neither one increased attendance...neither one developed(s) revenue........hold on.......those pin stands would do just as well without the shade over them......... and for that matter we could throw Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama onto the pile and have a nice big campfire.

I personally love the hat! I just don't like what is underneath it. :sad2:

I love the hate, but the stage needs to go. It is so out of place and HSM is just awful.

I hate the hat. It is very cartoonish looking, rather than an architectural element with Disney level detail like the Tree, Castle or even Spaceship Earth. The Chinese theater is more in line with the old Hollywood theme of the Studios.

Like it or hat it it dosn't match the theme.

However I'd rather they refurb the attraction.
