If you had to skip a park...

With two little ones, would you skip AK or Epcot?

I was disappointed in AK when I visited years ago but that may be because we have a fabulous zoo in our town that I have been visiting regularly since I was a child. We take the kids there several times a month during spring, summer and fall so I don't know if the animals would interest them very much.

I know the adults would love to see Epcot again, but I wonder if the little ones will get too bored for us to enjoy it. Maybe we could visit Epcot in the afternoon and evening on the day we arrive for something a bit slower paced to transition out of travel mode.

What do you think?

I would skip Epcot with my 5 and 2 yr old. AK has fun rides for small children like the safari, I didn't think Epcot had much for them, it seemed more grown up.

DD loved Epcot at age 2 and 3. AK was her least favorite park. We went to WDW 3 times when she was ages 2 and 3, and on all three trips by early afternoon, she wants to leave AK and go back to one of the other parks. She will spend 2 full days at Epcot and never ask to leave. If you have to pick one, I'd say Epcot. If you can go to all of them, I would say do them all!

I would do an AK morning and Epcot afternoon. My two (both 3) love animals and really enjoyed the walking paths at AK along with the safari and shows. We spent a 1/2 day at AK, which was perfect.

I would say AK, as it can be done within a 1/2 day no problem. My kids get pretty bored there;)

My kids are 2.5 and 4.5. I would skip AK. On our last trip (then 3 and 8 months), my kids loved MK, DHS, and Epcot. We spent at least 2 days at those 3 parks, but only a half day at AK. The kids just didn't care for it, and honestly we didn't really either. We also have a wonderful zoo and visit it often. To us it was similar to the zoo. They did like the Nemo show and the safari ride, but if we had to skip one park, that would definately be the one.

I recommend skipping DHS. We skipped it on our last trip. The last time we were there was in 2006, and we were not impressed. Not to say it's not a good park; it just wasn't for us.

We usually spend several days at EPCOT. We're the type that like to walk around and look at stuff; not necessarily hit all the popular rides. There is so much to see and learn about at EPCOT.

At EPCOT, they have KidCot Fun Stops - there is a station in each country around the World Showcase for the kids to do a craft and get a stamp. If they collect all the stamps they get a reward. It's really fun!

How about upgrading to Hoppers and seeing DHS and AK all in one day? DS is 4 and we were done at DHS in just a few hours. We did TS Mania (2x), Playhouse Disney, Muppest 3D, pictures with Lightining & Mater and a couple minutes in the playground and he was done.
On the other had he would have spent much more time at AK. He loved the Bonyard, Festival of the Lion King, The Nemo show, the Safari and the whole of Dinoland.

We're skipping Epcot next time because the kids were bored out of their gourds.

They LOVE Animal Kingdom. It all depends on your kids, you know them best. Good luck!

ones that your kids will either love or hate. My kids love it. They're boys who love Star Wars and Indy. They love shows, so they were willing to sit thru the rain and some thunder to see Fantasmic. They would hurt me if I suggested a trip to Disney that didn't include Star Tours and TSMM, lol!

On our last trip we went and went and went...and, due to rain, still didn't get to do everything we wanted. The Action show got stormed out...and we just didn't have time for the backstage tour.

I think if I had girls this park would be a definite half-day affair.

With little kids, tho, if you can time it right, I could see trying to do AK and the Studios in one day. It would take some planning, but it would be do-able.

I regularly skip DHS. The playground closes WAY to early, the rides are fun but LONG and my kids would get bored after 15 minutes of the same narrative ride. My kids LOVED Epcot, especially the world showcase and the illuminations show. AK is another one of my kids favorites. The bone yard is a God send when you want to just sit and take a break. Plus the petting zoo makes my kids melt.

We never spend more than half a day at DHS, so that is def. the one I would skip! The 2 older kids thought Playhouse Disney was DUMB, and the little ones are too small (or too chicken) for Tower of Terror and Rock-n-Roller Coaster. No one in the family is a big Beauty and the Beast fan, we think the Great Movie ride is a Total Miss, and TSM wasn't open yet the last time we were there. We chose to see the Indiana Jones show over the Car stunt show.. they were both at the same time and we could only chose one. So by the time we did Star Tours, Little Mermaid, one Man's Dream, Muppets, and Indy it was only about noon and we decided to bail out and go swimming instead.

Everyone in our family (even the 6 yr old, who was 4 last time we were there) loves Animal Kingdom and Epcot, no way could we skip either of them. We usually spend at least *2* days in each one.

Esp with a good zoo close to home, I'd skip AK. Don't know your kids' ages, and it's not a choice anyway for you, but our 6 & 3 loved DHS too. They loved AK but we don't have zoos around us. Epcot is better than expected, both DS's loved the Kim Possible adventures, spent all day on just that.
