popcorn::Ok. Going to go on a date night (or maybe just a few hours) with my DH and let the DS5 & DS9 have their own fun at a kids club.
If you could choose any signature dining, which would it be??? Why??
We are foodies and while price plays a part (this is our one OOP) in how we dine, If the experience is worth talking about and having a wonderful night, that plays as much a part....
Let me know your thoughts!
:)

My choices would be Artist Point we have always enjoyed AP from food to service to being at the WL.

California Grill- the view is awsome & so is everything else.

Jiko- I have been dying to try this one so that is my reason.

We have dined 1 time only at Citrocos, Narcoosees, Jiko, and California Grill.

Of these, Citrocos is probably the most quiet/romantic and the Grand Floridian has an orchestra and piano player in the lobby. My next vote is for Narcoosees but I think the food at Citrocos is better. The Polynesian Resort (previous stop on monorail) gets the best reviews for their kids club - the Neverland Club but we never used it.

Also at the Grand Floridian, I'd love to try Victoria and Alberts but it cost $$$$$$$. That might be the most fancy meal of any... but no dining plan. And could be a very long meal, some reviews say 2 or even up to 3 hours???

Jiko was nice and there is a kids club there too. We thought California Grill was OK.. the food was really good but I just didn't think much of the atmosphere -- tables close together and noisy... might be nice during fireworks, but we were not there to see, had dinner earlier.

If you are paying OOP, I suggest getting away from Disney's signatures as there are better places to eat that are not on the dining plan.

Of course, tops is V&A. If you don't want to spend that much, I recommend Bistro de Paris, bluezoo, Il Mulino.

If you are trying to use dining plans, our favorite of the Disney restaurants is Flying Fish.

Hands down California Grill...the food is amazing and the views can't be beat!

Bistro de Paris
California Grill
or
Jiko

Those are our favorites, but we have never eaten at the swan and dolphin...I would say look at the menus and see what looks best to you!

Thank everyone for your input. I guess it is so part of your own personal tastes...I guess it will all depend on
1) where/when we can get resies and
2) as long as we can get the kids in the nearby kids club....

Here is another vote for Artist Point. The food is very good and the restaurant has a wonderful calm and quite atmosphere.

I must preface my post with I have NEVER been to a signature restaurant.... BUT I'm reallllly wanting to try Jiko and I think there is a kid's club nearby.

Pakey's recommendations (Blue Zoo, Il Mulino, Bistro) would probably have the fewest kids and thus be more "date night" like than most other spots. And all are good restaurants.
Citrico's CAN be quiet on occasion. Flying Fish is a fine restaurant, but nothing quiet about it whatsoever.

One that I haven't seen mentioned yet is Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios... DF and I ate there for the first time ever last time we were in DW (first week in Jan.) and LOVED IT!

I don't hear it mentioned very often so maybe it doesnt have the best track record?? but I was thoroughly impressed... We even went back a 2nd time during that same trip!

Especially noteworthy was the smoked salmon appetizer...YUM!!!

If you chose the Neverland Club @ Poly you will have the most options of place to go. It is easy to get to CR, GF & WL. Our DS loved the NL Club. But when we were at AKL to club there looked cool too.

DH and I are having our adult only night at Shula's at the dolphin.
They also have a kids club there (or at the Swan).

We went there (again on our own) last year it was lovely very quiet and no/or not many children. It felt like a real escape from the normal madness!

Oh and their chocolate souffle is to die for :love::cloud9:

Whatever you decide have a great time

I have eaten at both Jiko's and California Grill on our last trip. I would do Jiko's for a date night they have a fantastic Filet Mignon(sp??)! You start the evening using a warm rose scented wash cloth that just seem to set the evening!
