If you had to give up one of these items..

Cell phone. I only keep it in my car for emergency use so I wouldn't miss it unless there was an emergency of course. ;)

The microwave would be the easiest, because I don't have one now anyway, then the dishwasher. Cell phone would be hard because I've gotten used to the easy access to people, but I could live without it. The computer would be very hard, almost impossible, I would miss it too much. The car is a necessity for me because we live in a small town with almost no amenities, but if we lived in a larger urban centre with public transit I would give up the car before my computer.

I'm just glad you didn't ask me to give up my tv ;)

Dishwasher becasue I have a husband and kids to help with that if they enjoy eating.
Now if you asked what I SHOULD give up it woudl be the computer. ;)
I wish you would have had TV on that list. I'd LOVE to get rid of every TV in this house.

Definitely the dishwasher, as I don't use mine. I prefer to do dishes the old fashion way, by hand! :thumbsup2

Dishwasher.
I'd just wash everything by hand right after using it so I wouldn't have a big job to do later.

Dishwasher, hands down. Then microwave, then cell (I basically just use it for 'emergencies,' anyway).

I would hate to give up the computer, but the car is an absolute necessity.

Microwave I rarely use it.

I would give up:

Cell phone (no-brainer)
Dishwasher (I can wash them in the sink better than the dishwasher does)
Microwave (I'd miss it, but can get by without it)

Car and computer would be tough to give up.

Definitely the dishwasher. I grew up without one and will still hand wash more often than not.

I'd have to choose cell phone even though I use mine a lot. I wish you'd put TV on the list as that would be my first choice to go.

Microwave.

Maybe I've just had too much radiation and given it too much thought, but it sorta "scares" me a tiny bit. I've already decided when this one is done, that will be the last one.

Which would be the easiest for you to give up - providing you had one..

Cell phone
Microwave
Dishwasher
Car
Computer

I don't have a cell phone or dishwasher (which would be the first things I would easily give up), so for me it would be the microwave.. ;)

Definitely the dishwasher. Until we moved to the new house, we didn't have one anyway. I drafted the kids into doing the dishes by hand, and they survived. ;) Character building, right??

I guess I could manage without a microwave, but I would NOT be happy about it.

And don't even THINK about taking away the other 3... NO WAY.

We don't have a dishwasher so can't give that up. For me personally, the easiest to give up would be the cell phone. I have a land line that I can use to talk to people. And other members of my family would still have their cell phones for emergencies/on the go use.

But if it were what my family could give up easiest, it would be the microwave.

I wouldn't want to give up my microwave so fast because it uses a lot less energy than an oven. So I wouldn't want to pay the cost of energy to use an oven/stove for all my meals.

Computer first, up until we got the net 2 months ago, we didn't have a computer hooked up. I used the library for free. Plus it can be a big energy user in your house if you don't have an energy star rated monitor.
Dishwasher next. I grew up hand washing dishes and only until our last apartment, did I ever find the joy in actually using one. But I still hand wash occasionally, mostly my pots because I never have a full load and need them for cooking.
Microwave next. I wouldn't want to live without it but I find the cell and car more important.
Cell is my basic means of communications and without a computer, it makes it very hard to keep in contact. I don't use a house line.
Car is very important to us. Kari works crazy long hours and a lot of times the busses are not running early/late enough for her shifts. While living in the back yard of magic kingdom like many other CM's... I couldn't stand to be that far away from civilization. Then I'd be really screwed without a car living there, there's no bus transportation at all. I also prefer to do my traveling in a car... planes are a last resort for me.

Cell phones. Between the two of us we use approximately 60 to 90 minutes per month maximum.
