If you had to choose....

Hello Everyone

I am planning a trip to DW in either April or May...not sure which yet. I want to go when it's not unbearably hot and when the crowds are manageable. We normally go in January, which we love because weather is good and crowds are so low, but ill health postponed that trip so we are shooting for April/May.

In your opinion, when would "you" go. Would you go a certain week in April or May? If any of you have been there and can offer advice for or against a certain time, I would greatly appreciate it.

I would not go the week before or the week after Easter to avoid Spring Break crowds or the last week in May because of Memorial Day. Maybe late April or early May. I've been mid-late May one year (before Memorial Day) and it wasn't too crowded (more crowded than January, though), but it was starting to get hot.

I'd go the beginning of May. The Spring break crowds should be gone and the end of school crowd has not yet hit. Plus atleast half of April is Peak season at WDW. You will get better rates in May. It will be starting to get warm but I dont think it will be "summer" hot.

We're going May 2-12. Early May (after all spring breaks are over, and before the intense heat of summer) is our favorite time to visit WDW.

I would go the first week in May. April will still be crowded with grammar, middle, and high school spring vacations. I went last year for a week that included Memorial Day. The crowds were fine before Memorial Day, during and after that....very crowded! And it was also VERY HOT for my liking. I can't imagine what July and August are like.

I would suggest the last week of April/first week or so of May....this is also our favorite time to go....but, we can't anymore because dw is school teacher....be advised though: even in early May, temps can reach well into the 90's in Florida.

is to not go near Easter. And, keep in mind that in early-mid April the rates are a little high because it's peak season.

We often go Memorial Week. It's regular rate season and he crowds are manageable because many school systems across the country haven't let out yet.

I think any time in May would be nice!

The regular rates start on April 27th; before that is high season. So, I would think anytime after April 27 would be a good time to go. The Flower & Garden Festival is going on, which is a plus. The weather can be hot already, but it is usually pretty dry.

2 big things to be careful of in May....
Grad night weekends and Star Wars weekend!!!!

I will never go again during any Grad night week!

This year....I would pick the 3rd week of April. Easter is April 11th, so all the crowds are gone by the 17th at the latest.
and I don't think Grad nights start till April 25th.

OR.....the last week of May....May 23rd to 30th. I've been there over Memorial day and I would prefer that to Grad Night weekends. It really isn't that bad, and they usually extend the hours to make up for the larger crowds, which really aren't that big yet.

I would also pick early to mid-May. We have been to WDW twice around Mother's Day and it seems to be a good time to go although not as good as in the winter.

The weather is much warmer (in fact it got pretty hot) but I would imagine it was nothing compared to the summer heat. The crowds were heavier than in Dec/Jan but they were very manageable and the Flower/Garden Festival is quite enjoyable.
