My friend got a postcard from WDW last Monday.
She called me and was excited. She wanted to stay at CR in Dec. It's the same time that we're going.
I suggest last Monday that she call to book a room, but she wanted to wait to see what her DH says. She didn't even mention the trip to him until Friday night.
Her husband wanted to think it over and told her it was okay to book on Sunday.
My friend then called WDW this morning, a week after receiving the postcard in the mail, only to find out CR was sold out for the postcard rate for the dates she wanted.
The CM offered her a room at WL. Did my friend book? No. She is going to wait until this Friday when her DH is home from work since he works away. They'll talk it over, and if he's okay with WL she'll call back next Monday morning.
I suggested she book WL today. If her DH says no she can cancel, but she needs to get a room booked before all the rooms run out for her dates. Nope.
She believes Disney should hold rooms for postcard holders. For all those dates and all hotels for each postcard holder?
To me, getting a postcard with a discount rate is like getting coupons from a store. First come, first served. Drag your feet thinking about it, and you may be out of luck. Maybe I think wrong though.
How long did you wait after you got a postcard or email before you booked a room? She's just floored that CR would be sold out after only a week went by since receiving her postcard. I'm hoping she's not going to be floored again when she calls next week expecting that WL room offer she got today. She has no confirmation number or anything.
