If you DON'T use Magic Bands...How do you carry your tix?

We're trying to figure out the best way for easy access without losing them. I'll need to scan them at each ride, correct? I bought some cheap lanyards for us to wear, but I'm worried about a kid losing theirs. Suggestions? I guess I could pin the lanyard to their shirt...or is it better for me to carry everyone's ticket. (Kids ages 6 and 4). Also, can I scan it through the plastic of the lanyard holder, or do I need to take it out each time? I thought about using the laminating pouches as well to make the tickets more durable...I expect them to be paper, but are they plastic?

why not just use magic bands? You only need to scan at the rides that you have FP on. But I think the tickets are plastic now to accomodate the RFID.

You'll only need them on the rides that you have a FP+, so only about 3 times/day (plus admission, and if you end up getting extra FP+s after you use the first 3). They are paper, but it is a durable paper. Don't laminate them because you don't know if that will mess up the readers. They really will last. We've gone on trips longer than a month, and they've been fine. The plastic ones they give people onsite are prone to bending and more of a pain, IMHO. (I'm assuming they're still paper. I haven't been since offsite people started getting FP+. They could have switched to plastic, I guess, to make them RFID-enabled.)

I carry a cross-body cell phone pouch and keep the tickets in the outer pocket so that they're easy to get to. I bought mine at WDW, but you can find them anywhere.

Because we're staying off property, so they cost $13/pp...I can't justify spending $50 to wear them.

What do you mean, paper versus plastic? They mail you paper but give you plastic ones there? We have the Armed Forces salute vouchers, so we'll be exchanging them at DTD for our real tickets.

They are plastic tix now. Like a Credit or gift card. We stayed offsite last year and invested in the Magic bands but we also had Memory maker. For us it was well worth the cost (5 of us) as the kids could just tap their band for FP+, entry to park etc and we could have our group split up and still have photos captured via the magic band. If we hadn't gotten the MM not sure it would have been worth it...

I like lanyards. But we get stronger plastic pouches because those are the week spots in the lanyard.

I saw a lot of people wearing the lanyards and to me that seemed like the smartest, easiest option....

They are definitely plastic exactly like a giftcard. DH & I carried our kids. I will say that if your kids are responsible a lanyard might be better though. At one point we split up and forgot to give the right cards to each other. We figured it out but still stressful because we almost missed the FP+ window. If all your FP+ are for the same exact rides though this won't be a problem.

I'll add if you have e-tickets, you'll need to hit DTD or the Ticket&Transportation center to get the RFID cards.

They are definitely plastic. I kept all of them in my back pocket. When we needed them (4 times between admission and FP+), I gave each person their tickets and they gave them back. Easy. I don't like the idea of them hanging around my neck.

I didn't realize we only needed them for FP. I'll probably just hold them in my purse. :) thanks!

FYI- if you loose a ticket, guest services can easily replace it using your MDE account. I lost my ticket at HS in December, and it took all of 5 minutes to have it replaced.

We got everyone Disney lanyards with the coin purse on it. There was an outside plastic pocket for tix (I kept all of them, since the boys were little), and you could zip your ccs, AAA card, etc into the coin purse. We got ours from ebay months before the trip, and they still sell them there very reasonably. Just search disney lanyard purse or some such.

I ordered lanyards online beforehand and they were a god send. I didn't get one for my boyfriend because he said it was cheesy and halfway through the day he bought one himself.

I have MB but I do not wear jewelry, don't like things on my wrist, not even a watch. I wear my plastic AP on a lanyard with a plastic see-thru holder.....just touch it to the Mickey head just like the FP and boom, all done. I have made several lanyards so I have lots of pretty colors and character fabric to choose each morning. I also put a credit card and my Driver's License in the holder, so it's all the important stuff together.

I think that's a good idea. Your kids are pretty little, so I wouldn't count on them to keep track of their own. As you said, you'll only need them a few times a day, so you can keep them together in your purse.

I've never been a fan of lanyards. I read a post once where someone's lanyard flew off their neck while they were on Test Track! Yikes. I have a small cross-body bag - seems a little sturdier.

I carry a tiny wallet with ID and credit card. I just stick the tickets in there.

Mine is a small zip bag with a lanyard, so I don't have to worry about the weak plastic and it holds quite a few cards so you can have ID, APs, credit cards, room key and stil have room for a few dollars.

Like this (but mine has princesses)

Photo is from Amazon....3 of these are $11....Frozen 3 piece is $12, they also have other characters and sell some singles and some 3 packs.

We now use MBands, but when we used the plastic tickets, I got some see through card pouches at AAA with a rubbery surround and clear plastic front that were a bit bigger than a credit card. Then I got a retractable chain like some use for keys. It is what I use at work for an ID badge. I HATE lanyards. I would put my ticket, ID, credit card, and a couple of 20's in the pouch and not carry a wallet. Worked wonders and easy to carry. I also used one with out the retractable chain, just with a clip I could clip solidly onto anything. Or I just took it off and put it in a small hip pack.
