If you died today...would your internet friends know?

Hmm...As much as I'm on here, DH probably would come on and post about my passing (he has a user name here, too, though he posts very infrequently). I can't say I have any "friends" here, though, so I doubt any/many would know who I was or anything.

I do belong to another forum that I joined when I was pregnant with my son, now 5. DH probably doesn't know I still post there and wouldn't inform them of my death. Even if he though about it, he doesn't know my password.

Chances are yes, since youngest DD (Stitchfansjr) comes on here daily.
Funny that this subject came up though cause I just a had a conversation with my best friend the other day, don't remember how it came up but we both realized that if one of us would pass away there wouldn't be a whole lot of people who would come to our funerals. Sad, very sad.

In my 51 years of living I have just one very close friend, besides DH of course. My family is very small since we have lost quite a few of us recently. All sad, very sad.:sad2:

One of the saddest days on another site I go to was when a husband came on to post that his wife had passed. Her name was Sparkler. She had cancer. She fought a brave battle. She's been gone for 3 years now.
My oldest son would probably know to post at my bookmarked places - for message boards it would be 3 of them.

A few years ago, I would have said no. But now I have met a few Dissers in person, and have become friends with some. So they would know. I don't know if they'd let the rest of you know, but most of you probably wouldn't even miss me.

I would miss you:hug:

If it makes you feel any better - I was just wondering about you! :goodvibes

We could use this thread as a check in - like once a month.

Im still alive.

And then carry out our month with everyone knowing we're still alive.?? No? ;)

Are you kidding me or what? You would have to have friends left on the board for them to A. Know you are missing or B. be able to check up on you.

1) You need to have friends on the internet.
2) They need to still post where you did.

It is more likely that your enemies would notice you are missing.

My DF knows I post here regularly, I don't know if he would post anything or not though.

Who cares? I'd be dead. The people that matter (and sorry none of them are my "friends" from any message board) would know and show up to my funeral (which will be extremely small since a good part of my extended family is already dead).

What a depressing topic.

I remember on 9/11 coming home and going right to a board that I was very much involved in to see if everyone there was all right.

I started reading one thread that was posted just after the first plane hit that asked " Didnt ******* work in the World Trade Towers" Others started replying back that yes he did. Several posts down his wife had replied that yes he did that she had just talked to him. He was okay it was the other tower that was hit and that even though their building was okay he was still going to leave. Well as the events proceeded to go on that day, it wasnt till later that afternoon she posted that she had still not heard from him again. Then the next day came her post that we all kind of figured was coming.. " I have to realize he is not coming home "
