If you couldn't afford the hotel you wanted to stay in, would you still go?

My choice would be to wait and save for the resort I really wanted. I'm very particular where we stay since we spend alot of time at the resort. Our first onsite stay was at CBR and we loved it, but once we tried a deluxe, we were hooked. Now we won't stay anything but deluxe, so if that meant making adjustments to our trip by waiting longer to go or shortening the trip by a day or two, that's what we would do.

I would love to stay again at the poly but I have honestly loved all of our trips on and off site, all levels and for me, experiencing the magic is a lot more important than where we stay. I think there is a lot to enjoy at Disney hotels esp at every level of resort.

Our family vacations are very important to us. It just so happens that we prefer to vacation in our Disney bubble. We stay in whatever level of resort we can afford that year. We often stayed values, and had wonderful trips at them. Would gladly return. We Love the deluxes too! We have only tried one moderate (CBR) and though we really didn't care for the resort at all, it didn't ruin our trip...we still had an awesome time!!!! For us, vacation means being together as a family, no matter where we are. Our hectic schedules and DH constant trips away being in the military make the togetherness aspect more special. Not the resort. :goodvibes

The resort is a bed, shower, and potty. We r usually out at rope drop after the 6am mickey(now stitch) wake up call, returning in the dark carrying/pushing to sleeping kids. We have told the kids we can go 5 nights at mod or deluxe or 10 nights at asm. Ten nights always wins We squeeze out every bit of magic we can. And, with the price difference we try and do a special experience.

I have stayed at almost every WDW resort from GF RPC to Pop. My WDW vacations are successful or not, based on the people I am with rather than the hotel where I sleep. My only exception is that I must stay in an Epcot resort for F&W.

When I want a luxury resort vacation I head to someplace other than Disney.

Regardless of where I vacation, I would not go if I had to be concerned about the budget.

Onsite is my only requirement so we plan a date, save and then stay at the level we can afford at the time.

I would stay at a minimum in a moderate or I would stay offsite. I do want my resort to have certain amenities but it certainly doesn't have to be a deluxe.

I guess that if I wanted a deluxe I would save up and wait though. I'd hate to be upset about my resort.

We want to try every resort, so I would just see it as an opportunity to try something else. We have been 6 times in the past 3 years and have a trip coming up and still haven't repeated a resort. I wouldn't pass up a trip. We haven't been in a value yet, so maybe my answer will be different after trying that (no plans in the works for a value yet).

I've stayed at all levels and I've enjoyed every resort I've stayed at.

I know I'm going to have as good a time wherever I stay.

The choice of resort would not concern me.

Yes we would still go. The point is to visit the parks. The particular resort isn't as important to us.

Count us among those who wait and save up until we can do our vacation the way we will enjoy it.

We go every other year instead of every year or multiple times per year... because transportation costs are a huge chunk of our cost and if we are gonna spend that money to travel we want to thoroughly enjoy ourselves once there. For us, that means staying either at the Poly or at AKL Club level. :goodvibes

We've done the value resorts and even off site before in years past; nothing wrong w that if you prefer to spend most of your time in the parks and don't mind the smaller rooms and 'value focused' atmosphere. But we've come to really enjoy spending a good bit of our time at WDW at the resort itself, and we definitely appreciate a quiet, more comfortable, refreshing setting while on vacation. Have reached that age where staying at a value and spending RD thru closing time at the parks would require a 'vacation from our vacation' in order to recover once we returned home, lol.

So we squirrel away a bit of $ here and there, and take advantage of discounts and special offers, and then book another trip to WDW when we have sufficient money saved up to enjoy a truly magical vacation. :wizard:

I go twice a year for 11 to 12 days at at a time. This year I wanted to stay in the Little Mermaid room in October but when Free Dining came out and excluded that room I switched over to Pop. We love Pop and have been staying there since 2009. The only issue is that I have gotten hooked on the preferred pool view and won't stay in any other section (unless the pool is closed.) I have tried to go deluxe but I get half the time at WDW for more money so I stay value so I can stay longer. I would love to stay at the BC or Boardwalk but I can't justify it when I am only sleeping in the room.

We are going for Thanksgiving and it's our well over 60th trip. I can't get a discount and so we are staying offsite. But - we are going to Disney World for five days! What could be better than that? I refuse to sit at home. I'm 50 years old, still have another 35 years (according to my doctor) so I'm going to Disney World, having yet another great time and to heck with where I'm staying. I'm at Disney World!

We go every other year at the same time because of conference and school schedule. Some years our vacation savings is big enough for us to afford to stay onsite in a deluxe. Some years there isn't so we stay offsite. This year we have the time off of school to stay for 2 weeks. I'd rather stay 2 weeks offsite in a condo instead of spending the same amount of money to only stay a few days onsite.

While I have only been to DisneyWorld twice in my life and have stayed at both Port Orleans resorts, I would definitely stay at POP or any of the value resorts than not go at all. DS does not care where we stay, he just wants to go:thumbsup2

It would depend for me. I am a deluxe resort girl. But, other factors play into it as well. How many times I've been this year, how long I'm staying, why I'm going, who is going with me.

I chose AoA for my solo Christmas trip because I've already been for 10 days in May and stayed at WL. I'd love to stay there again for the decorations but I would feel guilty dropping that much money twice in one year. And it will be neat to stay in a brand new resort.

We stay at the moderates. When we began discussing our next trip I suggested to my husband staying longer at a Value and he said no.

That being said I don't think we would spend the money to stay deluxe. If that money was in our budget I would extend the vacation and stay moderate.

We don't spend all that much time at the resort but enjoy the reaxing atmosphere of the moderates. My daughter loves the fact that there are so many more pools.

If we really wanted to go and couldn't afford to stay moderate I would stay in a value. My husband most likely wouldn't, so we would wait and save more.

We would wait a year and save the money to stay where we wanted. We always stay at the Polynesian because we absolutely love it and staying there is a HUGE part of our Disney vacation. We love going to the parks but we spend alot of time at the resort too so it's important that we stay where we really want.

DH, DD & I always play a sort of game where we ask each other "OK, you've just been zapped to Disney World. Where are you?". Each one of us usually answers "At the Polynesian!". :goodvibes

Love the Polynesian too..I would like to go back but have this stubborn part of me that wants to try new resorts..my next Deluxe will probably be either AKL or the Contemporary...

If I couldn't afford the place I wanted (Beach/Yacht club or Polynesian!), I wouldn't go until I could afford it.

For me, life is too short. I can be happy staying any place that is clean, updated, and not ugly.
