If you could work at Disney.....

I am a Respiratory Therapist and my wife is a RN. We want retire and work the first aid station at the MK.:cheer2::cool1:pixiedust:

My plan is to retire in the Mountains of Tennessee mostly to be closer to Disney! I want to be a seasonal or part time Nurse at WDW ideally working in the first aid station.

LOL, we just posted below you and you stole my wifes job.

I would like to work in Disney Transportation driving park and resort buses. DW wants to work in landscaping or park maintenance. Although, specifically she wants the night shift so she can see what goes on in the Magic Kingdom after hours --- especially when the Christmas decorations come out!

My retirement plan is to sell Mickey ice cream bars from a little cart. It would be the best way to spend my retirement years by making people happy! And who is not happy when they get ice cream?

I would be the liaison that forces all the different Disney entities (parks, resorts, DCL, DVC, etc.) to COMMUNICATE since the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing!

I did it backwards, DH and I worked there when we were in Uni. I started in the BeaverTails shack in Canada (anyone remember that?) it was DAMN hot in the summer in there but it was fun.

I also worked in Le Cellier, always busy in there.

I always thought I would love to do the display windows along Main St USA they are gorgeous! And they probably work at night and don't have to deal with guests ;)

#1: starter at the golf course
#2: golf course ranger, or male golf course cartboy; why are they always cartgirls?
#3: golf ball picker upper at the driving range
#4: undercover shopper at any of the parks
#5: the old guy sitting on the bench outside Raglan's
#6: any other physically demanding job, such as above

For #1-#3, you'll have to fight DH for those jobs!

I'd work the tip board in AK because it's my favorite park. I've even gone so far as to go up to the CMs there and suggest "Don't you want to retire so I can take your job?" One of the CMs there did tell me once that that's the park to work at. Often, you don't get out of the park until a couple hours after it closes. Since that's the only park with no evening EMH, the absolute latest they get out is 10:00. At other parks, it's not unusual to leave after midnite.

New Plan! DH and I happened to be talking about this exact same thing today, and he suggested I be either a jeep driver on Kilimanjaro Safari so I could always see the animals, or a roving CM in the aviary part of Panjani Forest exploration Trail, because I'm a bird watcher.

I love this one!

I am going to go in a different direction as I could not live in Orlando area. I would love to work at HHI resort in some capacity(at retirement). Only five hours from the world by car.

I'd work in the Haunted Mansion. Cool costume, you're out of the elements, and if you're having a bad day, it fits the character! lol

Great thread!! My DH and I have talked about this often.

So far, the plan is for him to be a starter at a golf course and I want to be the cartgirl (sells snacks and drinks to golfers on the course).

Nothing else usually comes up for us.

Certainly do not want to do anything like my "real" job when I retire - LOL

I'm an ER veterinarian, so I wouldn't mind working in the new kennel. I could hang with the pups all day, and be there in case of an emergency.

One day. Maybe once the kids are all in or done with college.

Now that I could do for retirement. Love the low country area but still close enough to WDW.

Too funny! When I was student nurse I worked a clinical weekend w/ a local RN who works as nurse in MK seasonally! It was the best clinical ever! ;)

I would like to do the lawn mowing at any of the golf courses.

Well.i would love to work there now as i originally posted. Unfortunately, that will never happen for me unless we hit the powerball. I can't can't imagine not working. If we retired there and i think it would be to DL since I love Cali. I would want to a job where i can sit some since we will be talking about the next thirty years on my feet (plus the last 10+), i would be open to suggestions. My husband would have to fight all of your husbands for some golfing type of job. It wouldn't be any different then now...at the course 5d/week.
