What would you like to do at Disney?

For me, Dinner at both the Top of the World (Now the California Grill)

And at the Empress Lilly (Now Fulton's Crab House)

I would meet dream finder and figment! and ride the original ride again.

Mike,

That was awesome. That was always one of mine and DP's favorites. I won't tell her now, she's sleeping and I'm not even sure this warrants waking her up.....

I would probably go on "Horizons" at least 10 times in a row. It's one of my all-time favorites. It's one of those rides that made you feel good and gave you chills. (Maybe it was just me. :confused3)

I'm not sure if you listen to Lou Mongello's podcast or not, but he had the original Dreamfinder on his show not too long ago......and I almost teared up a little. :cutie: (Apparently the guy who walked around Future World was also the guy who did the voice for the in-ride audio.)

That was a wonderful episode! but it did make me sad :sad2: I heard they have a new version of figment on his own now? I wonder if he is lonely...

Yeah......I'm not too fond of the new version. :sad2: I miss the original, who sat on the arm of Dreamfinder, and from what I've read online, I'm not the only one.

Don't worry........I'm sure "Figgy" still meets up with his old friend from time to time. :)

Turn back the clock? I would go so very far back. I'd go back to the mid 90's when they still had the double decker buses in the WS, and then the Junkanoo bus (wicked talented people there!). Back to a time when the FWF was a true festival and featured the better restaurants of WDW on a rotating basis, and there were many cooking demonstrations right in the WS (saw any number of headline chefs during those days). Back to a time when WDW was sparkling clean and any CM could answer your question about location of an attraction or other question along those lines...back to the days where WDW took real pride in the training they provided...when I saw a suit call for a clean up team minutes after a box of popcorn had been spilled.

You remember, yes? Those days of real magic and not just money grubbing?

The original - Enchanted Tiki Room
The original - Journey to imagination

To see everything up and running at Epcot.
The empty or closed attractions just make me sad :guilty:

I would ride "If You Had Wings," "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" and then go to "The House of Magic" on Main Street. :thumbsup2

If I could turn back time it would not be for anything that isn't in the park or is in the park - It would be to have been at WDW especially MK prior to being 37 y/o(first time I went) - I would have loved being 4-5 y/o and seeing the castle and all the magic as did our DD when she was 4 1/2 y/o - the look in her eyes throughout that vacation is unmatched by anything since!

I remember....back before everything interesting was an additional cost on top of your park admission. Back before private parties took up all the prime locations for Illuminations.

I'd want to ride 20,000 Leagues again.....

OMG!! I have AMAZING memories of both!! Our FIRST trip ever, we stayed at the Contemporary and had dinner at The Top of the World...best seats in the house..right on the floor and we were entertained by Diane Caroll!! Same trip, we ate on the Empress Lilly..my mom was SO exhausted from the day, she had the giggles all through dinner, and it was SO contagious!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:It was also, the first time any of us had ever eaten green linguini...and that's what got her laughing! Simpler times, but they were the most treasured memories!! Great pics, I 100% agree!!

I forgot to mention there is a website devoted completely to Journey into Imagination where some guy has tons of high quality audio clips, photos and a full ride-through video. At the moment I don't have the addy for it.....but I remember it having the word "Figment" in it. (Plus, I'm tired and need sleep, so I'm not going to look for it right now. ;) )

I'm so happy that the original Enchanted Tiki Room is still operational at Disneyland. They haven't changed a thing, although they really should dust everything off more often. Our game every time we go is to find any flower or bird not functioning. While we sing at the top of our lungs of course. When we saw what they did to the one at WDW, we were horrified.

Wha'ts Horizons? I never got to see Epcot back in the day when it wasn't just a bunch of half empty buildings or out of date attractions. My first visit there was in 2007.

One nice thing about Disneyland are all of the original rides that are still there, especially in Fantasyland, such as Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

And yes, there still is a Magic shop on Main Street. Tiny little shop that doesn't really have much, but at least it's still there. CM's will perform some magic tricks for you when you go. Isn't that the first job Steve Martin had at Disneyland?

I wish I could go back in time and see the Corset/Bra shop on Mainstreet and see the Wizard of Bra's show. popcorn::

Some of the original shops from the 50's just kill me. They even had a piano/accordian shop at one time for those people wanting to buy a baby grand before you leave the park. :rolleyes1
