if you could only pick two parks???

Magic Kingdom:
I am a 40 year old going on 5 and I love the casle the rides and the memories that MK brings me. It is the classic park and the magic is very much alive there.

Epcot:
I love the many dimensions this park offers and its food selection is outstanding the grown up park for sure.

I would say for your 9 and 11 year old....Magic Kingdom and Disney MGM Studios.
I remember when I went as a school age child that I couldn't stand Epcot. Even with the addition of Test Track, Mission Space and Soarin, there is still so much that would bore them. Just my opinion.

MGM - My favorite rides (RnRC and ToT) are there, and its a really interesting park.

MK- It's the heart if Disney World, I personally think you have to go there, or else it isn't really a WDW trip. You get to experience the magic of seeing Cindy's Castle from Main Street... :lovestruc That's one of the most magical things about Disney IMO!!

ThAnKs so much everyone!!!! Although ~ I think I'm having a harder time deciding now!!! :rotfl: Like I said, Magic Kingdom - for sure! But I'm torn between MGM and Epcot............. Uhhhghhhhhh! Help! :confused3 The kids have never been to Disney, so they won't really know what they're missing by not seeing one of the parks - but I really want to make the perfect choice. ;)

1. Epcot
Nothing beats this park. I could spend all day in the World Showcase. And Test Track is probably my favorite ride of all the Disney parks (close one between that and Aerosmith R&R).

2. MGM.
For me, I think it's edged ahead of MK. If I had kids, I'd probably think differently. But when it's just me and my girlfriend, can't beat these two parks.

I have a similar situation. We are going in March for just 2 nights at ASSp, then off to St. Pete's Beach to visit with my parents. My kids are 4 and 8 now. The last time they were at WDW was 2 years ago, so they remember it well and helped us choose which to go to this time.

They chose MK and Epcot. The oldest is upset about not getting ToT or RnRC, but he chose Epcot for TT, MS, and has not been on Soaring. Also, he likes the different food choices for dinner at Epcot.

My kids also know that they are going back in 2007 with us and their favourite aunt, so it is just a postponement on the other parks.

Edited cause I used the BAD short form for our resort

MK and.....hmmm.....I love the Safari Ride at Animal Kingdom. And the kids love the Primeval Whirl ride.... But I love Soarin and Test Track at Epcot...I think that I would have to go 3 days. While I was at it, I would add another 5 or 6 days :rotfl:

Good luck with your decision.

I have two boys, 5 and 10. They loved MK and AK. Neither liked Epcot that much. They became bored. MGM was okay. The older one liked it better than the little one because of RNRC and TOT.

MK and MGM. We love the Studios! It seems there is something to please all ages there from the Playhouse Disney Show to Tower of Terror. I love the streetscapes and there are so many "fun" eateries there like Sci Fi, Prime Time, Pizza Planet. DS loved RnR. I love the Backlot Tour. And don't forget the new stunt show for the happiest celebration!!

my 2 favorite parks:

Magic Kingdom and Epcot

MK -- the one that started it all and has many childhood and adult memories

Epcot -- just love the atmosphere and even the kids have a good time here--

have fun :wave2:

Our kids liked AK best next to MK. There was much more there to appeal to them and their ages and interests. Our family agreement was that MGM was terribly out-dated--the movies that it deals with are older and our kids were not familiar with them, so not interested in Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones, Backlot tour, and Star tours (girls). Then, the stuff for kids was intended for younger kids--Mermaid, Playhouse, They need some things to appeal to this in between age. Just our opinion, but I would go with AK or Epcot (my DH and my choice) depending on your family interests. Animals vs. other cultures (plus Epcot has just enough thrill ride options to keep a 9 and 11 year old excited).

:earsboy: :earsgirl: :cheer2: :wizard:

My family loves MGM. We think they have rides that our small children (3 and 8 ) can ride without height requirement. Everyone should ride the Tower of Terror once- We absolutely love the Stars and Motor Cars Parade. We have been to Disney 3 times. Each trip we find new things at MGM to do and great places to eat. I don't know if you can go to Disney without a trip to MK. Animal Kingdom is a visit to the zoo. We do love the shows and the new ride opeining in Spring 2006 would be the only reason we would want to go to AK. Each family is different, it would really depend on what your family likes to do ...

A suggestion if you choose Epcot.... go there first. The kids will be more impressed and enjoy it more and leave MK for last. Just our 2 cents from experience.

1. MK hands down! They will love it. It's classic Disney. There's something for everyone there. You just can't miss the Magic Kingdom.

2. Hmmmmmmmmm........It's a toss up fro me between Epcot & AK. I'd probably lean toward Epcot. Soarin is awesome. The kids'll love Test Track, and maybe Mission Space (I've never been on MS, but if you're all thrill seekers, then you might try it). Turtle Talk with Crush is fun, and we enjoy the World Showcase.

This plan would include Wishes one night and Illuminations the next. Can't go wrong with that! :cool1:

MK and MGM just for fun. MK and Epcot for fun and something different. :earsgirl:

when we only pick two parks we pick magic kingdom and mgm studios. mgm is great because you get to see all the shows and fantasmic. we have done only going to the two parks three times and have stuck with these two parks every time.

We'll be there next weekend for DD's 8th bday. She has chosen to spend her time at MK and Epcot. She did mention MGM, but she really wanted to eat at CP, so a 2nd day at MK was added to the itinerary (she had already picked one day at MK and one at Epcot.)

Whatever you choose, they will have a great time. Enjoy!

MK - that's a given
I am going to have to say MGM - it's a tough call between Epcot and MGM but my daughters 8 & 6 loved MGM.
