We're going to WDW next month...30 days to be precise! :cool1: We are always on a budget when we travel, and we're OK with that. (Heck, if I wanted to have loads of cash, I certainly wouldn't be an English teacher, would I??) We're staying offsite, so we'll be eating breakfast and some meals outside of the parks. We usually do counter service meals in parks and have our "nice" sit down dinner offsite. However, we thought this time we might do one nice sit down dinner in the parks. We're not looking for a character meal or a dinner show. We're traveling with another couple for this trip, but for this meal it will just be DH and me. This might be our anniversary dinner (married 4 years!).

So, if you could only do ONE sit down dinner, where would you go? I'll say that we like good food, not necessarily fancy food.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I vote for my new personal favorite...Flying Fish. Perfect for a special occasion dinner, IMO.

Happy Anniversary :cloud9:

Le Cellier in Epcot's Canada- the perfect meal in the perfect setting. I think Epcot's romantic at night. Time it to where you can exit just before Illuminations starts! :cloud9:

My favorite restaurant in all of WDW is the California Grill on top of the Contemporary resort hotel. The food is great and the view cant be beat. Try to get a window table for the fireworks. I dont think you will be disappointed.

I would pick a WS restaurant in EPCOT. I like Chefs de France but there are alot of good choices. Congrats on your anniversary....have fun :woohoo:

:yay:

The Flying Fish is not in one of the parks. (I think it's on the Boardwalk, which would require a walk or a short boat ride from the International Gateway at Epcot's World Showcase.)

The California Grill is also not in one of the parks. (It's atop the Contemporary Resort. A bit pricey, but excellent view and excellent food.)

If I could have only one meal at a table service spot, and I wanted it to be in one of the parks as you said, I'd look at the menus beforehand, and go by that. Plenty of really good places to eat at Epcot's World Showcase, and the Coral Reef in Epcot's Future World ain't bad either. At MGM, the Brown Derby is excellent.

Enjoy.

Jiko is my all-time favorite.

Didnt see the part about in the parks when I answered. If it had to be in one of the parks I would do what Karnak said in checking out the menus and make your decision from them. If you like steak you cant go wrong with LeCellier.
One thing I would recommend if your going to eat in the World Showcase is to try to find out is if the restaurant is right next to the market area like it is in the Mexico pavillion. It can get a bit busy and noisy around you, something you might not want if your looking a nice dinner with your husband.

For LeCellier a must do on our visits to WDW. :goodvibes

Biergarten in Germany in EPCOT

German Buffet with a show. Wonderful food .

Lunch - Adult $15.99; Child 3-9 $7.99
Dinner - Adult $20.99; Child 3-9 $8.99

If it has to be in a park, then I would say LeCellier. I hesitate to suggest it because it is so crowded these days. Chefs de France would be be nice, too.

If you don't mind walking just a bit to the Boardwalk, Flying Fish or Spoodles would be excellent choices. Yachtsmans Steakhouse would be great too and only a bit furthur.

Based on my very limited experience, I would also say Le Cellier. I hear people say, "it's a steakhouse," but I think of it rather as a nice romantic restaurant that has great food (that happens to be steak!). And it will probably be less expensive than some of the signature places.

We liked the food at Spoodles, but found it to be loud.

In a park? Le Cellier.

Outside? Spoodles. Definitely Spoodles. Boma would be my second choice.

The other poster is correct though - Spoodles is very loud.

Le Cellier has great food, but I don't know if the atmosphere would be as romantic as California Grill, Chefs de France, or Artist Point. I do think World Showcase at night is very romantic, so you could make an evening out of it. I know California Grill is not in a park, but it's only a 10 minute walk from MK. It's much pricier than many of the other restaurants but worth it.
