Just for fun...

What Disney collectible or movie would you have if you could only have one?

I saw a Haunted Mansion wristwatch one time at a Disney collectors show.

It was, in my view, *gorgeous*. It had a picture of the mansion at night on the face, and on the hour, (if wanted) two small pictures of the stretching portraits would emerge from either side of the watch, while lightning flashed in the background and the Haunted Mansion theme played ! :scared1:

It was *amazing*, as was it's price: $1,200. I just couldn't afford it back then, but it's stuck in my mind all these years.

(OK, I can't pick just one ;) )

Also back in '94, ( I know, because I still have the catalog  ) Royal Dalton released an Alice in Wonderland tea party set. It had the long table and each of the characters sitting around it, all in separate pieces, even the tea pot and the "half a cup" of tea, and of course Alice at the head of the table. But of course, it was $999.

Like most high-end Alice merchandise, it sold out almost immediately, and I've been searching for it ever since.

I love all things Disney, but especially the parks. So for me, at this time, a mint condition A-E ticket book from Disney World is on the top of my wish list.

They do come up on eBay occasionally, but rarely with all tickets still attached. Usually one ticket is missing or detached. The closer to 1971 the better. Maybe it's not the most spectacular collectable, but it's the one I want now.

I'd love a Walt Disney autograph. It would be cool to frame it and put it in the living room.

A Goofy Movie probably. If not that then definitely Cool Runnings. That movie needs more love.

I'd probably say Enchanted as it is all of my favs combined... I can watch it over and over no problem :)

I would say my Little Mermaid $14.99 trinket box my mom bought for me on our first trip to Disneyland. It's so simple- just a little trinket box I keep on my dresser/vanity, but the meaning behind it is so much more than just a little box.

When I was 13, my DM's not-so-DBF promised me and my sister (who was 10 at the time) that he was going to take us to Disneyland the summer after we turned 14 and 11. And instead of keeping his promise, he changed his mind (not like he looked at his finances and said he couldn't afford it, just didn't want to do it anymore) So instead of my mom turning around and telling us we couldn't go anymore, she told him to Get Lost and then got two more part-time jobs ON TOP of her regular full-time job. And when I say she took us to Disneyland, she TOOK US to Disneyland! She bought us everything we asked for, and we partied from dawn til park close for three days straight :)

That's a tough one...I started to collect Disney Pins way before is became what it is now...and I have a pin that I got almost 13 years ago...it has all four parks on it, and my name...I have to say, that is my favorite item.

As someone who has collected Disneyana for the past 35 years, that is an incredibly tough question. I'm trying to think what one item in my collection I would keep if I had to get rid of everything else.

The first thing that comes to mind is my personal Mickey Mouse watch that I've had since I was a little kid. It is a very unusual watch because it doesn't actually have Mickey on the face. It just says "Mickey Mouse" but no character image. Unfortunately, I no longer have the original red band.

As for a collectible that I've purchased, I'd really have to think about that.

What movie would I have? That's easier. Mary Poppins. That has always been my favorite Disney movie.

For a movie it would have to be monsters Inc. For a collectable it would be my figment sweatshirt I love figment and it is always with me:figment:

Movie... Mulan! I finally earned my black belt at age 37. I love a girl that can save the world;)

That's tough. I would love an original photo from the opening day of Disneyland. That would be pretty cool. Or the one of Walt walking through the park or something.

Or maybe the original Disneyland sign that used to sit on Harbor Blvd. Do you think our neighbors would mind if we put that on our front lawn?

I know it sounds silly, but I get so much joy out of my D&B black purse with the Mickey sillhouettes! Every single time I carry it, at least one person comments on it. I really enjoy it.:lovestruc

Well, I'd have to travel to the Twilight Zone to get this one: I want to go back in time to the opening of Disneyland with my digital camera and take a picture of me in front of the castle. Then I'd get Walt's autograph to go with it. I'd travel back to 2011 and frame the whole thing. If I only get to keep one collectable, then it better be out of this world amazing! :goodvibes
